Highly Recommended City Tour During Transit in Lomé - I went on a short city tour in Lomé with Miabetour last week during my transit at Lomé airport. We visited the Palais de Lomé, Place de l'Indépendance, BIDC building, the Fetish Market, and the Presidential House. The Fetish Market was the highlight of the tour—an experience unique to West Africa. My guide, Seli, was very professional and helpful. I strongly recommend this tour for those transiting through Lomé, especially if you have over 3 hours of transit time.

An experience definitely worth doing - We have booked a group tour of 20 people with Miabétour, which was recommended to us by a friend who had previously used their services for a 6 nights in Benin and Togo. She reassured us that we would have no issues with them, and even in case of problems, they are very open to finding solutions. So I didn't hesitate to contact them. I was impressed by Olivier's level of professionalism. He guaranteed us a pleasant stay with the best possible activities to do. He took the time to create a tailor-made itinerary for us with all the supporting details and was completely open to modifications to ensure a pleasant stay. His hotel, restaurant, and transportation recommendations were top-notch, no complaints about that. He even took care of arranging our pick-up from Nigeria, even though we had initially planned to start our trip in Benin. This was an advantage for us and helped us save on transportation. We visited many places. The sites that impressed us the most were the Kingdom of Abomey, the Python Temple, the Agoumatsa waterfall, and the farm experience they offered us. His Lomé cultural tour is just amazing we love it especially the dance class he offered us. This is our best tailor-made experience. We couldn't have asked for anything better; it was simply the perfect experience for the group. A service and team that we highly recommend. We will definitely use their services again whenever we need them in the future.

Perfect Cultural Experience !! - I highly recommend this your to anyone traveling to Lome! You will get an in depth and intimate experience if this charming city. My tour guide Oliver was very accommodating, kind and respectful. We visited the national museum, a zoo, city market, voodoo (fetish) market, the president’s grounds and multiple other places. I had a better appreciation and understanding of the city after this tour, and I felt completely safe a a solo female traveler with Oliver!!

A jam-packed itinerary with great logistics; some communication struggles - Mirabetour really has logistics down for this tour. An air conditioned car with driver and wifi helps you criss cross the city and see a lot of things in a short timeframe. The tour was true to the itinerary, including a stop for lunch and more than 5 different tourist attractions along the way. Their guides also went out of the way to escort me to my hotel and make sure I was safely checked in at the end of the night. My main hesitation to recommend the tour is language. If you are a French speaker you may fare better, but the tour guides assigned to me frequently had difficulty answering my questions or explaining things about where we visited in English. As a person who is not multilingual myself, it's hard to point fingers, but I really felt that I didn't learn as much as I hoped because of the language barrier.

Falsely advertised tour - A large group of us signed up for this private tour. It got off to a strange start when we were told that we would have a driver, guide and a photographer along with eight of us - which meant 11 people in the van. We went along with this since we had no choice, and thinking it would be nice to have someone taking pictures for us. This made things tight in the van, and revealed that not everyone on staff had showered recently, which also compounded the fact that the van’s air conditioning was not operating properly. Despite this being advertised as an air conditioned van, we ended up having to open up the windows for some type of breeze, even though it was about 90 F (32 C) outside. As we went along on the tour, it became apparent that the “guide” was pretty much only an interpreter. After the morning stops we went to a hand picked lunch spot, where we were offered a plate of chicken that was swarming with flies. The restaurant chosen was dark and dingy, and we had real reservations about the cleanliness, so we passed. At that point, we simply wanted to end the tour, as everyone was exhausted from the heat and lack of A/C in the van. We asked to speak with the company owner to discuss our options for all the false advertising, but we were told repeatedly that the “President” couldn’t be reached. We finally said just take us back to our cruise ship and only then did the “President” say he would give us a 10% discount for the fact the van didn’t meet expectations. We asked how we would get the photos taken during the tour and the response was “those are only to prove to our boss that we went to those places”. But now we see that the owner has, without our permission, posted our tour photos all over the website. We couldn’t be more disappointed in this tour - BUYER BEWARE - don’t sign up for this tour unless you like to sit in stifling heat in a crowded van with A/C that doesn’t work.

Bad Day in Lome with Mirabetours - I do not recommend this company for one day tours. Two days prior to arriving, I reconfirmed my reservation with Mirabetours. The morning of the tour, I contacted Oliver and confirmed everything was fine and someone who greet me at the Port gate in the morning. Once we arrived at the gate, nobody from the tour company was there, After several phone calls and text, two men showed up from the company and took us to a gas station where we awaited for our tour guides. Once they finally arrive, we switched vehicles. Only one of the guides spoke rudimentary English and neither could understand or adequately address question or requests we had. At the cathedral, Lome Palace and the National Museum, they handed us off to other guides who spoke better English but it was confusing as to whether we were expected to tip them or buy something from them. The car was okay but the air conditioning did not work very well. As the day progressed, we became frustrated with the entire tour so we dropped three sites and asked to be taken back to the port. Overall, this is not a good value for your money. I would look for another tour company if you want to get an overview tour of Lome and the surrounding area.

AWFUL - The Van was not air-conditioned, the restaurant they took us for lunch was a road side place we did not feel comfortable eating at. It was overpriced for what we received. I would not book this tour.
