Great introduction to historical Maharashtra - I enjoyed this day trip immensely, even though rain and fog ended up hiding some of the views. But it was a full day of interesting sights nonetheless, with a great driver and a friendly, personable guide, Harshal. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and be ready for climbing plenty of stairs (the caves and the fort are both high up) — but the vistas at the top are well worth the effort. Highly recommended.

Incredible Views - Harshal is a wonderful guide who was flexible and accommodating to my wife and I. He took us to some of the best views that I have seen in my life (we have travelled to many National Parks in the U.S.). He was also very informative on all of the history behind each location as well as their religious and cultural significance. We could not be happier with the tour and would recommend this to everyone visiting Pune who likes to see the beauty that the Earth has to offer.

Day trip - Good views, the drive can be treacherous if you do have a heavy down pour. Went with friends and family for a day. Leave ample of time as it may get busy with traffic

Unforgettable Day! - I did this full day tour last weekend and it was amazing. I saw really very interesting nature, waterfalls, Lions's point and the surrounding of Lonavala. And we immersed ourselves in history and a little bit into the Indian soul. I liked it very much and it was really authentic. My guide Vikrant was very concerned about me, polite and tried to fulfill my every wish. It was really a wonderful day. Reinhard from Berlin

Unforgettable experience! - My husband and I had an incredible time with Sameer! He was knowledgeable about all the history at each stopping point and was able to answer all our questions. He took great care to show us the best viewing points and kept our safety in mind throughout our tour. He was such an pleasure to spend the day with. If you’re visiting the area we highly recommend booking a tour with Sameer!

A must see! - Tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, ready to answer anything even outside of the script, and had attention to detail. The sites planned were clearly the proper unique experiences to see the town

Very good tour, but went too long - The tour and guide was great. We were very satisfied with what we saw. The guide listened to our preferences. The only negative thing is that even though we removed 2 things from the program, the tour lasted 3 hours more than it was supposed to. About 30 minutes of that was waiting to fuel the car.

Mixed Bag - This was a really interesting tour that started at the Karla caves. I think there was a mix up with the expectation of the tickets, as I paid for my ticket and my guide’s, despite the details indicating otherwise. It will require a reimbursement, if you are interested in getting that money back. Considering the cost was around 350 rupees, I opted not to. But again, was inconsistent with the description of the tour. We then viewed some local places in Lonavala which were interesting: a Hindi temple, wax museum (which was interesting), and then the beautiful picturesque points of Lonavala (Tiger point and Lion’s point). The views were stunning. One thing to note: my guide was knowledgeable and answered my questions about the historical figures we saw at the wax museum, and was able to give a lot of context. The only odd stop was that of Mapro, which was a local garden kind of place that produces the foods used in its goods that it sells in stores. It was ok, but felt amiss with all the other points. That being said, these small odd points did not detract from my overall enjoyment.

Good places/ bad experience - I imagined the trip would be a beautiful drive with gorgeous scenery. It turns out to be an average drive with so-so scenery. Since the monsoon hadn’t hit yet, the PCR was bone dry. We went to the Karla caves and Lohagad Fort. The fort and the caves by themselves were quite interesting. The problem is that the path to reach them was poorly maintained and littered with garbage, food wrappers and plastic bottles. The toilet facilities were absent and the one public facility at the entrance of Karla caves was simply atrocious. It’s really sad that such historical sites are being trashed by poor maintenance and uncaring local tourists.
