A fascinating slice of history - I really enjoyed my visit to the magnificant Cutty Sark. I feel the £20 price tag was worth it as you can walk around at your leisure, never feeling rushed. I took my time and stayed for about 2.5 hours. In addition, there's a fairly comprehensive guide about the the history of the ship that you can download, although unfortunately it did stall a couple of times for me. Overall, I gained a thorough overview of the ship's history. The location and view from the ship is spectacular. You can even walk underneath the ship's hull as it's suspended above ground, which is quite remarkable. In terms of improvement I would have liked a bit more focus on some of the ship's 'characters'. The audio guide mentioned a former captain who used to rollerskate and breed collie dogs on board the ship (although presumably not at the same time). As a collie owner myself this really caught my attention, but there was no further information given. This could be made into an interesting feature, perhaps using some actors to narrate or some visuals, and I'm sure this would engage younger visitors as well. On the whole a fascinating slice of history.

Don’t miss this stunning restoration and intriguing museum - Stunning restoration of this magnificent clipper. Museum is thoughtful, and gives a good idea of life aboard the ship, without an overload of information. It’s well worth listening to the free audio guide before boarding. Good value for money.

Cutty Sark overachieved - We visited the Cutty Sark after seeing the Royal Observatory. Recommend that order especially as the Cutty Sark is downhill from the Observatory. We had lower expectations of the Cutty Sark exhibit… it surpassed our expectations. There were interactive things for the kids that were quite engaging. Really enjoyed the experience. At the end, there is a very nice cafe underneath the ship where we enjoyed a cream tea for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

A part of English History - Let’s deal with the price first, some reviews have said it is overpriced for what’s here. For me and this is my personal opinion, this is a major part of English history and therefore I feel it was worth it. It is a self guided tour starting at the bottom of the ship and learning about the cargo she carried, the routes she sailed and her importance as a record braking “clipper”, her various owners and her life here at Greenwich. On all decks there are highly knowledgeable members ready to answer questions and bring this ship’s story to life. We spend time with several and learnt some interesting facts. On the top deck it was amazing to see how the sailors lived, the kitchen and captain’s quarters and just to look up the masks and appreciate how talk this ship is (I did notice that there is an optional tour which allows visitors to climb the mask- maybe next time !!!) It was a pleasure to be onboard this flag ship and when she sailed the seas she was rightfully so the pride of Britain and in my opinion still is.

Display fantastic school groups not so - We booked on a weekday at 11.00 am.......so did a group of primary school children.yes it's part of their heritage and they have to learn but we were virtually pushed out of each section. We've had children but I think the teachers need to try harder to lessen the impact of their groups on others

Great time spent investigating the Cutty Sark - Really interesting. You could take in the Maritime museum as well but we didn’t have time. Straightforward ticketing , variety of ways of presenting lots of information for young and old, my teens loved it .

Reflect on the Age of Sail - As a retired naval officer, I thought the self-guided audio tour did a decent job picking out a few of facts and presenting them in context that made them relatable to the general public. Give it an hour or so. C.S. Forester and Patrick O'Brian fans may take 90 minutes. If you have kids, you'll probably need to work to engage them with the displays (I did not see any docents--missed opportunity to have a few folks on deck in historical costume to bring history to life). In good weather, the ship provides lots of nice photographic opportunities. The cafe offerings are on par with that at the Maritime Museum (we did not reserve the cream tea).

History of the boat - We learn more about this beautiful ship which has benefited from a well-done restoration. The audio guide on the phone in the language of your choice is a real plus. A play area is available for young children, allowing them to visit the ship in complete peace and quiet. It's not a must for a visit to London but if you're in Greenwich, it's nice to go and take a look! Entrance is however expensive but like everything in London...
