Great Spur Of The Moment Decision - We thought of Kensington Palace after our initial plans for the day fell apart. It was a case of scoring on a busted play. We had an audio tour of the king and queen’s state rooms and a display of the childhood of Queen Victoria. We were awed by the décor and intrigued by the story of 300 years of royal habitation. After the tour we enjoyed a walk through the gardens and around the pond with its abundant flocks of swans, geese and ducks. We did not have time for a stroll through the wildflowers but the paths were tempting. Our spur of the moment decision tour Knasington Palace was one of the best of our British tour.

Very good surprise - Very nice surprise for this castle in London.. The audio guide, included in the ticket is a real plus (available in French). It brings a host of details and bonuses about each of the different sovereigns whose apartments are visited in the wings. Favorite for the wing dedicated to Queen Victoria. The gardens around are cute without being breathtaking.

Kensington Palace, once the home of Princess Diana, is the residence of many royal family members. The palace's decorations and collections showcase the royal taste and history, while the gardens outside are a great place for citizens to relax. TOP service in a beautiful setting - It was very nice to walk through the castle and see and learn more about the English Royals. But what made the experience even more enjoyable was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. All smiles and all time for you. My girlfriend is less able to walk and help is offered everywhere to guide us to the elevator etc. Even when my girlfriend lost her passport, they found us to give it back, really TOPsevice!

Fascinating British royal history - Fascinating look at British royal history. We originally wanted to try to get Buckingham Palace tour tickets, but they were slow to announce them. Incredible artwork.

Excellent with the odd bump!! - Excellent, informative tour with friendly and helpful guides always available. Some of Victoria's jewels in the Jewel room were amazing and the free audio guide was well organised and explanatory. A thoroughly enjoyable tour which takes time if you want to enjoy the history of this ancient Palace. My reason for not giving 5 stars is that, because we spent so long within the palace, we missed lunch at the Orangery restaurant so returned to the Cafe within the palace. On the counter were 3 members of staff who were practiced in the art of avoiding the customer's eye. When they eventually deigned to serve us, the young man overfilled my coffee cup which made the others laugh loudly but no help offered to clean it up or sort out the mess on my tray. Food was mediocre and a visit to the toilet was the final straw - it was dirty and not well looked after for such a prestigious venue. Enjoy thi superb tour but avoid the cafe!!

History of royalty - Time for a trip to a few of the Royal palaces starting with kensington yesterday. Beautiful weather and a chance to walk around the Palace and gardens . The exhibition of 1720 royalty was quite impressive plus Queen Victoria's childhood rooms. Staff are very knowledgeable and provide plenty of help. Amazing how well the palace is kept ,you feel like stepping back in time. No wheelchair access to view for above floors only to the cafe and gift shop.

Lack Lustre Victorian Christmas - Aside from Victoria's Childhood exhbition which had a couple of averagely decorated trees, there was nothing Victoriana, grande or royal about the palace considering it is Christmas. All very lack lustre. Perhaps our expectations were set too high considering that we upgraded our tickets after fantastic visits to Hampton Court and The Tower of London in October ans November. Very glad we didn't pay to visit. Could be so much more especially for children ( a child friendly audio guide would be fab). The rest of the house could be decorated too as there is nothing different compared to any other day, especially as it is Christmas. Took over 3 hours to get here due to heavy traffic in Southampton and completed place in just over an hour. Wish we just went to a National Trust who go all out for Victorian Christmases.

Disappointing royal visit - We found this trip to Kensington Palace quite disappointing. Having paid £25 per ticket we completed the tour in about 75 mins. A free audio guide is provided but this tells you what used to be in each room rather than what you can actually see (which is lots of nearly empty and bare rooms.) We found the booking system easy to use and it was not too crowded. Probably a place to go if you have spare time but not a must if time (and money) is limited.
