An excellent visit to brighten up a cold November day. - I had a lovely time at London Zoo as a solo visitor which really brightened up what was a rather cold and grey November afternoon. I made the decision to attempt to see as many talks as possible, which was definitely the right choice. I attended talks given by Stefanie, Rachel and Maisie, and each was was excellent. Their knowledge and of the animals was impressive, and it was also clear how much they loved them. They also happily answered any questions the group had and were very friendly. For a first time visitor to the zoo, I would recommend you follow the timetable of talks. It gives you a good plan for the zoo, which can be quite overwhelming at times with so many different things to look at!

Pretty good. No better than any other zoos. - Went with my 6yo. We had a great time. It wasn't too busy apart from at the gorillas and tiger enclosure. The most disappointing area was the farmyard area but we loved the reptile house. Plenty of seating. Overall a good day out.

A visit to the zoo - Unfortunately we didn’t see many animals due to rain however we did see a few animals. Toilets were closed however they had temporary ones in use on the day we went.

First visit in many years! - We visited ZSL London as a family. We usually go to Safari Parks but as I hadn't been to London Zoo in well over 30 years we decided to go. Rather mixed opinions...some enclosures are great with lots of room for the animals but I agree with others who have mentioned the giraffes and zebras looking particularly poorly accommodated. I love to see animals out grazing but compared to the surroundings animals at Longleat etc. have, these animals lack space or even some grass! Highlights were the gorillas being fed, very close views of tigers and lions, the sloths and butterfly house. The lovely young man in the sloth area today (a volunteer) was a real asset to the zoo - well done to him! Whatever you do, take food with you. The food choices are limited, quality awful and hugely overpriced. Also, a refillable water bottle is a must. We had a good day but I don't think we will rush back.

An uncomfortable and depressing experience - This place was just a bit sad. I felt really uncomfortable with how the animals were living. The enclosures are far too small for many of the animals, especially the birds who barely have room to fly. The zebras and giraffe area were really sad looking. There also weren’t many staff / volunteers around so it just felt like this odd, almost abandoned attraction with lots of people walking around trying and often failing to see animals. It didn’t help that we went on a dull, wet day - I’m sure it’s better in the sun. The best bits were some of the indoor enclosures (like the sloths) but they were overcrowded. All in all not somewhere I’d visit again or recommend despite living in London!

Tired and disappointing - Unfortunately the zoo is very tired and disappointing. Very few animals, run down attractions. Lots of empty enclosures. One enclosure seemed to boast about plant life? And lots of weeds - the grounds are poorly kept. Did a lot of walking between enclosures that actually had animals. We were at the zoo for over 3 hours. So you realise how sparse the zoo is all we saw was 3 very lethargic gorillas, a couple of zebras, 3 giraffes, some monkeys, some sloths - the guy in this enclosure was very informative, a couple of camels but their humps were droopy which generally means their fat source is low, 4 lions, 2 emus, a few wallabies, some otters and penguins and 2 tigers. Hardly any bIrds or reptiles. The facility is a bit of an embarrassment to London. We were looking forward to something better and better kept.

Sad Day at the London Zoo - Unfortunately the zoo was very disappointing. Very few animals, run down attractions. The only thing operating was the souvenir shop. They should just call it the gorilla, camel and tiger show. Those attractions were available. The rest of the facility was an embarrassment to London. Don't open in the fall if you can't put on an acceptable show.
