Away day to the joys of Greenwich (via the Uber boat) - Phenomenal little jewel in Greenwich which has history and superb paintings waiting to be discovered. Jim as the tour guide is a noteworthy addition.

Fascinating tour of the painted hall. Don’t miss it!!! - The tour of the painted hall by Jim a volunteer was FANTASTIC!!! He provided an excellent overview of the facilities and had a very deep knowledge of the paintings and provided some very interesting insights and facts about the paintings and architecture. Well worth going to. Forget about 5 start. Jim gets 10 stars and definitely recommend the tour ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Painted Hall - Britain's Sistine Chapel - We were lucky enough to visit the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich on a First Sunday ticket and it completely exceeded our expectations! We started with the 600 Years of History Tour admiring Christopher Wren's architecture including the chapel. At lunchtime, we wandered around Greenwich Market then returned to see the Painted Hall - also known as 'Britain's Sistine Chapel' - it's quite spectacular and to think it was once used as a dining room! Our guide for the Painted Hall, Vincent, was excellent and had lots of interesting stories to tell us. The tours are included in your ticket and so much better than just reading the information panels. Highly recommend a visit.

Great experience - Worth every penny, especially when I learned our pennies go toward maintaining the place. Greenwich is my favourite area in London. If you're into Tudor history and architecture, this is the place for you. Our guide for the day was Jim (search for the man with a red and white umbrella). He was very knowledgable with a great sense of humour. We learned so much than we expected to about the ancient and modern history of the place as well as surrounding places that we will be visiting very soon.

Climb two unique staircases in Queen Mary Court - The Royal Naval College buildings are all Open today! Get to the main open space facing the river and find a desk where you can register today for the Open House guided tours of the Old Naval College buildings. Tours take about 30 mins. We visited the Queen Mary Court by a less well known architect, and learnt they subdivided the building into small rooms the pensioned off sailors would feel comfortable in. So an interesting history of a designer learning on the job what the client needs! The two staircases are really worth going to see; both cantilevered and one is oval. They are as unique as the tulip staircase int he Queen's House, also worth a visit.

Guide in great hall - Enjoyed the lecture about the paintings - very well informed guide but with such a strong Italian accent was difficult to follow at times.

Interesting trip - It was an interesting trip, there's lots to do around the town as well. After going to the college, we ended up going to the observatory. The observatory was definitely worth it

Painted Hall on 13 Aug 24 - afternoon tea and then guided tour of the hall - Did 2 things - afternoon tea in the Undercroft Cafe and then a guided tour of the Painted Hall. Afternoon Tea in the Undercroft Cafe at 1:30pm - very well presented and staff looked after us. The only main downside was the heat on a hot afternoon. As they cant open the windows, it was really hot having the afternoon tea and sometimes perspiring! The guided tour of the Painted Hall at 3pm was well done and all my questions were answered.
