London's crown jewel - We spent half a day exploring the Tower of London and only scratched the surface. The history here is mind-blowing, and the Crown Jewels are even more beautiful in person. The architecture is impressive, with so many unique buildings within the walls. Highly recommend a visit, especially for couples looking for a fun and fascinating day out.

Romantic and steeped in history (plus magical proposal!) - After a super funny and informative tour with the wonderful Yeoman Nev, my gorgeous partner Chris had arranged for him and I to have a private moment outside of the Kings House, where Chris dropped to one knee and proposed to me!! Of course I said YES!! So the Tower of London will always hold a special place in our hearts, thank you Yeomans for all your kindness xxx

A must see that you’ll never forget - This is a must do when visiting London get there as soon as it opens to avoid the queues and go straight to the Crown Jewels then the Tower where prisoners were kept, then anything else that has queue-arranging equipment out the front

Crown Jewels with a slice of Beefeater - Could easily have spent the entire day here at the Tower of London. My only complaint was that I didn’t understand that the “London Tower and Beefeater Tour” was just a general admission ticket. We had to line up with everyone and weren’t with a guide out front. Directions also weren’t clear on the website. We loved the Beefeater tour, advertised at 30 mins but ended up taking an hour because the guard was having such a good time with our group. Highly recommend that anyone visiting London see the Crown Jewels, White Tower, and Traitors Gate. Learned the difference between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, all that’s to our gracious Beefeater.

The highlight of our trip! - The highlight of our trip to London. The Beefeater guard was entertaining and told detailed stories of events that occurred. The duration is listed at 2-4 hours, and we easily spent 4 hours here exploring. The amount of time you spend really depends on whether you read each of the exhibits and visit each site, or just wander through and see the highlights. Either way, it's a great tour and well worth your time.

Great start to London visit for all ages! - Great way to start to our London visit with a historical perspective. We started at London Eye for visual overview, then took Thames tour to Tower Bridge for physical bearings. Tower of London and Jewels were perfect culmination of our first day. For two young adults and their 77 and 79 year-old grandparents there was something for everyone. Our Beefeater guide, Shady, was very entertaining and informative. Don’t miss this free tour as part of your entry ticket. There is a lot to see and pleasant areas to stroll about. We especially enjoyed the wild prairie flowers that now fill the moat and the unusually life-like wire sculptures of exotic animals that once were kept on the grounds. The ravens flapping about were also a treat to see. Lunch in the restaurant was a cut above usual museum food. Rick Steves book advised waiting until the hour before closing to see the Crown Jewels, which enabled us to avoid long lines at midday and enjoy the exhibit at leisure without a crowd. Climbing the central White Tower was least favorite part, but interesting if you are into armor and the building itself is impressive. Some of our group missed the display of torture devices in a small tower exhibit, so keep an eye out for this if it interests you. Advance tickets seemed well worth the price to avoid long lines on entry.

Glimpse into the past - The London of Tower is a must while in London. So much to see and learn about the early years of the structure and the lives of those that occupied it. Whether it be the stories of past about the kings, queens and their families, the barbaric ways prisoners were treated, to seeing the beautiful crown jewels, and learning about the life and service of the Yeomen that now occupy the tower, it was truly a fascinating day!

Great tour guide, time of 9:30 untrue - Beefeater Nev was the highlight. But the tour start time was falsely advertised as 9:30. We thought we would get ahead of the crowd but to no avail.
