• Carrickfergus Castle - Perched on the shores of Belfast Lough since 1177, this is the most remarkable Norman Castle in Ireland and Great Britain. You can enjoy a brief walk around the castle and its nearby harbour, followed by a short visit inside the fully preserved Courtyard.
• Andrew Jackson Centre - Hidden behind the bustling streets of the A2 highway leaving Carrickfergus is the renowned Andrew Jackson Centre, which celebrates the strong connections between County Antrim and the United States of America through the story of Andrew Jackson. His parents and two brothers left their thatched cottage homestead for the New World in the 1700s. Discover the origins of the UN Rangers in June 1942 in the small museum dedicated to the history of the US Army Elite Forces.
• Glenarm Castle - The first of the nine Glens of Antrim is the uniquely beautiful and rugged Glenarm, with its valleys, pastures, dry-stone walls, and countless sheep that reside here year-round. Glenarm Castle is distinctive as it is the only castle in Northern Ireland continuously inhabited by the same family since its construction in 1659.
• Carnlough Harbour - This charming seaside town boasts a lovely limestone harbour and remnants of two limestone bridges that once supported the world’s first narrow gauge industrial railroad. Unique stories are hidden around every corner, and the harbour was also featured in the Game of Thrones series, much of which was filmed in the Glens from 2009 to 2019.
• Glenariff Forest Park - The most stunning of the Glens, it has earned the title of Queen of the Glens for its grandeur and beauty. Frequently cited by author C.S. Lewis (a native of Belfast) as one of the inspirations for his Chronicles of Narnia, you will be captivated by the sheer scale of nature and the beauty of the many waterfalls cascading from its towering cliffs.
• Cushendall - Experience the authentic architecture of the coastal villages at Cushendall, known as ‘The Heart of the Glens,’ with amazing views of the ruins of Redbay Castle, the Red Arch, Agnews Field, and the Curfew Tower. Then take the upper road for stunning views of Glenariff, Glenann, Glencorp, and Glendun with its impressive 1830s stone viaduct. Cushendun, located at the mouth of the River Dun and Glendun, has a unique architectural heritage that celebrates close ties with Scotland. On a clear day, Scotland is visible just 20 miles away across the Irish Sea.
