Additional Information

Embark on our Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience, where you’ll traverse in an authentically restored stagecoach during our renowned tour. Begin with a tranquil journey through the city, swiftly progressing to an exciting gallop along a portion of the initial Longreach-Windorah postal route. Listen to the impacting hooves of our majestic horses on the rural dirt trail, accompanied by the rumble and squeak of the carriage. Prepare yourself for Australia’s sole stagecoach dash! It’s electrifying. It’s captivating. It’s the nearest experience to reliving the early settler era. Following the exhilarating ride (depending on your schedule) unwind with a conventional smoko (scones, jam, cream paired with tea). Furthermore, relish a quintessential Australian bush movie in vintage cinema chairs, succeeded by our Old Time Tent Show – a live enactment starring the highly engaging Kinnon boys. A homage to the earlier travelling performances, this is wholesome, old-time enjoyment for all ages.

  • Is it suitable for those with delicate backs/necks? It is like driving in a 4WD on a gravel road. the experience includes a short gallop along a dirt track. If you feel this will upset your neck or back, Outback Pioneers suggests reconsidering.

Longreach Cobb & Co Stagecoah Experience - When in Longreach visit the Qantas museum, the Stocjman's Hall of Fame and do the River Dinner cruise, but do not miss the Cobb & Co stagecoach experience. We started with a 90 year old Town Crier explaining the history of Longreach. we then boarded the Stagecoaches. there were 2. Both originals but with renewed steel suspension. We took a 40 minute ride and then on return went to the cinema where we watch a quintisential Aussie film called "Smiley gets his Gun". Seats were deck chairs. It was a great experience nad not to be missed,. The 2 stagecoach drivers were knowledgeable and entetaining. Do not miss this

Fabulous| - What a great experience! There was a town crier giving a history lesson. Not sure how accurate it was, but it was very entertaining! He said he was 90 and one of twins. Later, at the tent show, he said he was one of triplets and shared some of his poetry. he looked great for his age and was very funny. The stage coach ride was a great experience. They got up quite a bit of speed on the gallop back. Back at the store, there was scones and tea in what looked to be a heritage dining area. There was a movie, an old time tent show and we had the billy can lunch. It was a great morning, well worth the experience. Quite different from anything we've done before. Highly recommended
