Exhilarating ebike ride - Without doubt this is one of the best tours I have taken in Los Angeles! If you have a few hours free in LA then go ahead and book a tour; you won’t be disappointed! The rides start in Atwater Village, which is a short car / Uber ride away from downtown. You can also get there by train from Union Station as the Glendale stop is only a 10-minute walk away. I took the “G’day LA” tour of Griffith Park, the huge mountainous park to the north of downtown LA, on the top of which sits the Griffith Observatory and to the left is the world-famous Hollywood sign. The day started with a fabulous welcome from Shelli-Anne at the eBikeTours LA office in Atwater. I’d never ridden an e-bike before today yet the bikes are really easy to use and before long it became second nature - there’s next-to-no learning curve here and you can just focus on enjoying the sights and sounds of LA. After getting kitted out with a brand new eBike (mine was “Redwood” and each one is named after a Californian tree), a bandana to protect the neck from sunburn, and a top-range skid lid (safety helmet), we set off for the trail through the colourful suburban streets of Atwater Village, joining the dedicated cycle paths along “LA’s best river” and into Griffith Park itself. Taking in the sights of the LA Zoo, Travel Town transport museum, steam trains, and the park’s visitor centre, we soon left the flat and started to climb up Mount Hollywood through some quiet car-free trails, quickly gaining elevation with the help of the bike’s motor and boost button. Before long we’d stopped to take in an awesome view of The Hollywood Sign (you won’t get much closer than this without a considerable amount of effort and dedication). Then onwards to the iconic 1930’s-era observatory building for spectacular views down to Hollywood and DTLA (and if you’ve timed it right perhaps something more celestial inside the observatory building itself). After a well-earned breather and a wander around Griffith Observatory it was time to get back in the saddle and start the trip back. The bike itself was equipped with a very secure phone holder and if you have an Apple Watch I recommend logging a “workout” as it’ll record all your stats (see- you did burn some calories even if it never felt like it!) and - best of all - you’ll get to see the trail you took to the top in a very neat but impressive satellite map. Sugar-free sports drinks and snacks were also thoughtfully provided in the bike’s pouch. The ride never felt like hard work, thanks to the powerful motor, yet I felt like I had got plenty of exercise too. And the reward for all the up-hill cycling was the free-wheeling down again, taking in more sights of the park, a sneek-peek of the very exclusive neighbours of Los Feliz, the famously large avocado tree that also just resides here on a suburban street and even the studio where some Apple Watch faces were designed by local artist Geoff McFetridge. Being a Sunday we were back in time to take a stroll through the local farmers’ market before grabbing some food in the Village (HomeState tacos highly recommended!). I cannot thank everybody at eBikeToursLA enough. Thanks to their disarming friendliness and great sense of humour this felt more like meeting up with friends rather than just taking an organised tourist trip. I cannot wait to return, not just to do another ride but also to say hello to Shelli-Anne, Gavin and co again. It was a wonderful day and a great experience! Thanks guys and see you soon!

Best time ever biking in LA! - Amazing, fun, informative, easy for all ages and levels! We came, we pedaled, we conquered! Highly recommend! In LA for over 30 years… And I have seen new things that I never knew existed before and the City of Angels. My guide was hilariously funny, full of urban legends and historical references about LA.

The best of LA is by bike! - The car is king in LA but it's not always the best way to see the best bits of LA. What I love about LA is its history, its nooks and crannies, its hidden gems as well as its epic, all familiar landmarks. E-Bike Tours LA will give you all of the above in one ride! I loved this ride, made all the better by the knowledgeable and passionate guide. From the LA River, Griffith Park and its many treasures, local neighborhoods, and even the local avocado trees, our guide had a breadth of knowledge that was engaging and reflective of someone who took a lot of time and care to learn about what he was showing us. Fun and fascination aside, our guide was also very safety conscious. Clear instructions were given before and during the ride and he was diligent in checking in on our small group along the way. This ride was a good mix of on and off-road cycling with some flat terrain and a good chunk of hills. It's not a dawdling ride yet not too hard. The bikes are very comfortable with a good amount of pedal assist power when and if you need it (including a throttle if you want a rest from peddling altogether!) Their office is located in the fantastic Atwater village where there is a great choice of eateries for a big brunch after a good 3-hour ride.

Don’t dilly-dally ! Book it now… - This is a must do in Los Angeles!! We set off early and the temperature was perfect. For a beginner the pace was perfect and we all felt we were in safe hands. The guide knew their stuff … from ancient history to the present. And the views… I even forgot to take photos… they’ll take your breath away. It’s a small team so they’re invested in you making sure you’re feeling safe and loved. It really is an experience that will live with you… not just for the tour but the relationship you build with this team … love love love Chris Graham

The best E-Bike ride in LA - Recently took my family on a bike tour around Griffith Park with Gavin as our tour guide. I’ve lived in LA for 10 years and frequented Griffith Park many times but I never knew it had so many secrets. Gavin is a very enthusiastic, entertaining and professional tour guide and I can’t recommend taking a tour with him highly enough!! Seriously by far one of the best things I’ve ever done in LA! Well be back soon to join you on the downtown/Elysian Park ride Gavin, the kids are getting excited about it already!!

Everyone in LA needs to do this!! - What a delight!!!! My face hurts from smiling so much. I had no idea there was so much to discover in LA, and I had no idea it could be so much fun seeing sights I never knew existed and learning fascinating facts about this fabulous city. Being on an e-bike and accessing the backroads of LA was a dream, (I love the throttle!). I can’t wait to do this again with all my local friends, they’re gonna be blown away with all that’s to be discovered. So. Much. Fun.
