Great combo trip - horses and ATVs - This is about 20-25 mins from Cabo - you can ignore the Google Maps instructions to drive past and do a u-turn further down the highway. Just turn off the highway direct. Ranch has a bar for refreshments and somewhere to buy photos taken by the photographer. We chose this because we wanted one adult to go horse riding and the others to go on the quad bikes. Horse riding ended up being 1-on-1 with a nice ride out to the beautiful beach for some cantering. The ATVs were semi-automatic, which was no problem for the teens. a lovely route took us through desert trails onto a large dry river bed and then out to the beach where we stopped for a break and some photos. Consider taking a bandana or similar to cover the mouth and nose as the route is (unsurprisingly) very dusty. Very friendly staff, right balance of supervision and freedom. Great couple of hours and got a good price through an agent in town.

Nothing to rave about experience - Went with a friend to do the combo horseback riding and atv with a 10:30am reservation. I’m giving 3 stars because… 1. Shuttle: we were the first to get picked up at our hotel. Our pick up reservation was for 9:30am. and on time. Great start but then…picked up a couple other people. The third stop the driver was lost and had to stop for directions. Finally found the group and picked them up. They were supposed to have been picked up at 9:40am (10 mins after us). They weren’t picked up until 10:15am. There was a total of 10 of us in the shuttle. The whole pick up experience for us took 1 to 1.5 hours total. No bueno. 2. Arrive at Amigos. We were directed to go upstairs to check in. Waited for everyone to check in. Waited waited waited…more people started showing up. We were finally told to go downstairs so we can get started. The groups we rode in the shuttle with were only doing atv and we thought we were in that group too which would’ve been fun but when the staff realized we were a combo excursion, we had to wait because they were having us to horseback riding first. Fine until we realized that our whole excursion was just the two of us. Would’ve been more fun with a group. This whole process before actually starting our excursion took an hour. No bueno. 3. Horseback experience. Got our horses…great! Cons: we were given no direction or asked have we ridden a horse before, we had to ask what our horses names were, we had to ask what our guides name was, the whole experience was silent besides my friend and I talking. Our guide didn’t say anything. What if our horse bolted, what were we supposed to do cuz they sure did like to trot. That was uncomfortable (not horses fault)…which brings me to comfort. The saddles were not comfortable. I’ve done a couple horseback excursions in the past and they have blankets on the saddles to make for a comfortable experience. We went down a long strip until we got to the beach which was very nice then headed back to the ranch. The tour was 45 mins. 4. ATV experience. We were given instructions on how to use the ATV then off we went following our guide. This was really fun! No cons here. 5. Departure. After our excursion we went back upstairs where we were given the history of the tequila for the tequila tasting which is optional. They try to sell you a bottle of tequila. Not mad at that but we didn’t buy a bottle and only tasted one tequila. They showed us all the pics they took of us on both excursions. There a lot of shots to choose from. We bought two pics at $30 each. Really pricey in my opinion. $15 each would be more reasonable. They also offered packages but those were pricier. We waited about 45 mins until the group that we rode with on the way to the ranch arrived back from their excursion. The ride back didn’t take nearly as long and we were the first be dropped off! YAY! All in all we had a good time overall. Would I go back or recommend, probably not. The cons on the whole experience is: - the timing of shuttle pick up and start of excursions need to be better and more on time - an interactive guide that talks during horseback rides - organization when guests arrive need to be way better. When we arrived we just walked around not knowing where to go while staff just sat around and watched us. We had to ask where to go.
