Lots of fun - This was a great ride. Over an hour, different terrain, good speed. The beginners had a blast. Went at 4pm which was perfect for the sunset drive along the beach. Our guide was Eddy. He was awesome.

Not that great for the $$$ spent! But Linda the Camel is awesome! - This tour is for people whom are not familiar with motorsports activities. We purchased the 2 hour tour with the Can Am turbo. We expected to be able to actually GO FAST and rip around. This was not the case. The tour includes transportation, which is great. You arrive, you go through the check in process, they told us we would be in a group of 15 and follow the leader.... no thanks. We upgraded to the private tour which was just our two units. They also get you on your cell phone use, if you want to take your phone and take your own photos you have to pay more money or you have to leave your phone in a locker..... WHAT! The units are very rough, which is to be expected because they are rented so much. Our tour guide was on a quad and needed to see how our driving was. We were never more than a razor length away from her. You were unable to actually get to any sort of "fun speed" it was very restrictive. We looped the exact same loop twice, stopped for photos at the top of the cliff and then stopped to visit the camel named Linda. Linda was the highlight of the trip by far. We also saw humpback whales, which was also a highlight of the tour. Then after 1 hour she took us back to the compound. Apparently I missed the part about, if we went fast, the typical 2- hour tour would be less time. That's pretty ridiculous. If you pay for 2 hours you should get TWO HOURS, whether you are a slug or a speed demon. Then you go to look at the photos, I only wanted 2-4 of the 30 photos. They wanted $20 per photo and would only print the photo out, or you pay $160 for all of them. That is insane! I was disappointed with this tour. When we go back down, we will search for a "private" tour or where you can rent razors and actually go have your own rip around etc. They are VERY strict about follow the leader, so the entire time the guide was going straight down a rutted out road, there were numerous s corners along the side of us that looked fun, we were NOT allowed to go on those trails. That seems pretty ridiculous. Now, perhaps it all depends on the guide you get too? I don't know. It wasn't worth the $500 for us. But it would be for a group that doesn't already compete in motorsports.

Nickel and diamonds - The actual ride on the beach and through the desert area was good. The process of being haggled for the addition of insurance, resort $25 fee per person, vehicle upgrade, picture packages, and then a giant tip at the end from your tour guide is what made this experience not feel like a rip off. Additionally, the shuttle on the way there and from the hotel took forever. We left at 8:15 in the morning and didn’t get back to the hotel until 1:30. We booked our tour through the hotel for close to $200 a vehicle and then when we arrive at the location had to wait down a long line for over 35 minutes to go sign in and have the processor get the additional $25 fee per person and then try and up sell us on everything. At the end of our beach tour our driver told us that it’s customary to give a $40 tip per vehicle. You can do the math but a $200 trip easily turn into a $500 trip at the end of the day. This doesn’t take in to account the bandannas they try to sell you or tequila.
