Great experience! - Really enjoyed my humpback whale-watching tour. The whales were being a bit shy that day (mostly brief sightings of a mother and baby), but it was a great experience just the same. Very well-informed guide, and loads of information - plus real care being taken not to disturb the whales, which is really important. Thoroughly recommended!

Best of the best in Cabo - We ventured out multiple times with Cabo Trek while we were in the area and each trip was very rewarding. Our marine biologist guides Vanu and Maria were very knowledgeable and great to work with. The boat captains were fantastic. The boats are clean, safe and very comfortable. Most importantly, while we were out with the whales everything was done with the mindset of viewing the animals. Not chasing and harassing them like other groups.

Cabo Trek is the Best - This was our seventh whale watching excursion with Cabo Trek. We would use no other whale watching company in Cabo! All aspects of this tour company are top flight. The main attraction for us is that Cabo Trek is respectful of the whales (actually all marine life) and nature in general. Please, if you want an excellent experience, book with Cabo Trek. The guides are knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. The boat captains are excellent. Know that you will not always have a fabulous viewing experience. That is pretty much up to the whales. That said, on our two recent excursions we saw mother whales with their babies, an adult whale slapping its tail no fewer that a dozen times, whales swimming under the boat and coming up close by, and several whales spy hopping. On top of this, we spotted grey whales, a dolphin pod, and several rays.

Amazing Cabo Whale Watching Trip. It definitely fulfilled my bucket list! Would highly recommend!!!! - We would highly recommend CaboTrek for a whale watching adventure. Over the course of two trips, one in the morning, and the second in the afternoon, we had a bucket list experiences. Our biologist Vanusa was both extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her job. She is very friendly, open to questions, and has a very sharp eye in identifying the different whales. Freddy, our captain was skilled in his operation of our vessel. He was able to keep our group within good viewing distance while respecting the whale’s space. He coordinated with other boat captains to maximize the experience for all. While not guaranteed, we saw three species of whales, newborns with their mothers, and males competing for attention. Once again, this experience allowed us to check a box off of our bucket list. 10/10

Book with this ethical company and hope you get Vanu as a guide! - Late January is a fantastic time to take this tour. The waters around Los Cabos are a nursery for baby humpback whales, so there are definitely going to be whales! There are many whale watching companies in Cabo San Lucas, but I booked with Cabo Trek because they have the best reputation for ethical whale watching and actually send out a marine biologist on the boat to point out sea life and answer any questions you have about it. It is the ONLY one in the area certified by the World Cetacean Alliance. (One of the other popular ones with a similar name also books tours for dolphin swimming including grabbing captive dolphins for "rides." That is never ethical. Don't book with them.) Vanuza (or "Vanu") was our marine biologist and guide. I couldn't be more happy with her explanations. She helped us to see a breaching humpback, a female humpback with 2-3 males around her in competition, a grey whale, a jumping mobilus ray, and a pod of dolphins! She is also an excellent photographer and she takes great pictures with a camera with a big zoom lens that you can purchase back in the store later. Pics will include a high quality picture of you and your party in front of the iconic arch formation near Pelican Rock. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the ocean was very rough that day. Given the small nature of the boat, it was a very rocky trip for us. My husband got so motion sick that he couldn't enjoy it and barely saw anything. That's not the fault of Cabo Trek, but it is a downside of a smaller boat. The upside of that size is that it feels like a very personal experience and everyone has lots of opportunity to talk directly with the guide. I would not have traded the experience for the bigger boats because they seemed very crowded and you could hear their party music and their microphone enhanced guides who were not giving any information about the whales, but just pointing them out and saying "ooh!" and "wow!"
