A Journey to the Stars

As a family travel writer, I am always on the lookout for experiences that can captivate both young and old alike. When I heard about the Teide National Park Sunset & Stargazing tour, I knew it was something I had to experience with my children. We found ourselves above the sea of clouds, surrounded by the rugged beauty of the volcanic terrain. The sunset from this vantage point was nothing short of magical. A Night Under the Stars

With the sun setting, the temperature dropped noticeably, a reminder of the altitude we had reached. Bundled up in warm layers, we made our way to the stargazing site. The night sky unfolded before us, a vast canvas of twinkling stars and distant galaxies. Our guide, Ozzie, was a fountain of knowledge, weaving tales of mythology and science as he pointed out constellations with his laser pointer.

The telescopes provided a closer look at the wonders of the universe, from the craters of the moon to the rings of Saturn. It was a mesmerizing experience, one that sparked curiosity and awe in my children. Even without the telescopes, the sheer beauty of the night sky was enough to leave us all spellbound.

As the evening came to a close, we were offered the chance to have professional photos taken under the stars. These photos, capturing the magic of the night, are now treasured keepsakes that remind us of this unforgettable adventure.
