Amazing Swamp Adventure - The swamp tour boat ride was incredible! Our guide, Bobby, was knowledgeable, funny, and full of adventure. He taught us so much about the swamp and the gators. We also greatly appreciated the door to door service with pick up and drop off. This tour is worth your time and money when visiting NOLA!

Excellent full day tour - This full day tour is a great experience for those wanting to see the area surrounding New Orleans. The mini bus picks you up at your hotel and transports you to the plantation. Once there, you can walk around the grounds and enjoy the scenery and learn about life on the plantation. The guided tour of the house is brief but very informative. Then you are transported to the swamp for the boat tour. We did the airboat tour and it was really good. We saw lots of gators and our guide, Dewey, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the gators in the swamp. He even took us to see a bald eagle’s nest where the parents were feeding the babies! I would highly recommend this tour.

Time constraints - I'll preface this by saying the overall tour was great and the operators were pleasant however just a few things left me feeling slightly uncomfortable. First, I'm not sure if this is commonplace for tour companies but instead of pulling off and stopping the driver just honked the horn a couple times and then waved us across the street. The streets are narrow so that could have been the reason but it felt very uncomfortable. Then the door didn't close on the bus and we had to drive several blocks with the door open and wait for a new one. Again, I know things happen but that just felt odd. The buss they replaced it with also had something wrong- it almost sounded like a fender was rubbing. It was very loud. The Plantation tour was lovely and the guides were great but there is simply not enough time to see everything. I didn't even stop to read signs and instead just took pictures of them so I could read them later. Do not get the mint julep with the bourbon... I love bourbon but it was just a bit overpowering. The swamp tour was great but again, just not enough time. After being on the bus for an hour plus you didn't even have time to use the restroom before they were calling you. Overall it was a great tour but one that would have been better to self drive.

Airboat is the Highlight of this Combo Tour - Plantation portion of tour was okay. The highlight was the airboat swamp tour. Our driver, Bobby was great. We were able to see lots of alligators including "Cool" , a very large gator. Would recommend the swamp tour for sure.

The plantation tour guide... - The plantation tour guide was amazing, very knowledgeable. However there was not even close to enough time to see everything available on the tour. The bus driver, where do I start! The drive to the plantation was fine but from the plantation to the meeting with the other bus was horrendous!! The driver was more worried about his radio and playing music and 'dancing' to it than driving! He was barely watching the road, driving way too fast and at one point he was eating potato chips actually tilting the bag up to his lips with his head tilted back! He was driving over the dividing line and the on coming traffic had to move over on the shoulder to go by! Terrifying!! But we finally changed buses and drivers. That lady was great! The airboat ride and swamp tour was fantastic and our guide Captian Ernie was wonderful! Very entertaining!

Do Better. Not worth the cost. - So, heres the reality of this tour. The Oak Alley Plantation offers 2 great photos at best. You only get to visit 4 rooms in the home and there is little to see. The grounds have some beautiful trees but offer little else. A few slaves quarters to see from doorways with brief history. The best part was the ride out driver and the gift shop. The airboat ride was actually awful. Instead of a nice ride through the swamp, it was a few strategic stops to rev the engines, calling out the gators who are now trained to respond to be pelted with marshmallows and taunted with chicken. My whole group walked away feeling like we need to do better as a society than treating wildlife like circus monkeys. If you really think you need a swamp tour, look for one that focuses on conservation. This was just awful.
