Recommend - I really liked this museum. The quality and variety of exhibits was great. It was very educational. There was coverage of the KY Derby, awards, past winners, focus on specific roles within the sport and the opportunity to see the track at Churchill Downs. I spent close to a full day here.

Great museum, esp for horse and racing fans - A visit to the Kentucky Derby Museum is a big recommendation for any Louisville visitor and a must for racing or horse fans. The reasonable entrance fee ($15 in 2018) provides access to 2 floors of well curated exhibits and a 30-minute walking tour of the front of the track. In 6 hours, I barely skimmed the exhibits, with half that time spent on the included and extra tours. The centerpiece of the museum’s ground floor is a large oval theater featuring a 360-degree 20-minute movie,”The Greatest Race”which features a bit of history, some race footage, and interviews with a wide swath of jockeys/trainers/owners as well as other staff. Excellent movie!! There were several interactive exhibits, opportunity to watch almost all the past Derbies since photography allowed. There were displays of the recent Derby and Triple Crown winner, Justify, a green screen to get a photo of you and the winner, memorabilia of racing greats and others too numerous to mention. The museum is worthy of a couple visits to absorb all the great history.

100%Go - Loved this museum. The movie was spectacular. Only thing that would have made it better is more places within Churchill Downs.

Kentucky Derby Museum - Great museum of the history of the Kentucky Derby. Great displays. Loved the special display they had on the 2nd floor of Secretariat. What a gorgeous horse! They also had a display of fashion that was worn at the Derby. My ticket also included a tour of Churchill Downs, which is right next door. Unfortunately, it was raining and we couldn't go on the track.

Christmas adventure - The views were amazing. We took many photos. Next time I’d like to attend an actual race. I would encourage others to go on the museum tour.

Awesome tour and museum! - Three excellent experiences - The Greatest Race film to start was a very informative presentation of the history of the derby, an up close tour to the track itself, and an awesome museum including tributes to several derby participants and a few interactive experiences. Very reasonably priced and well worth the time and cost.

Ok but not my favorite - I think this would have been better on warmer weather, but the guides did a good job of keeping as much of the walking tour inside as possible. The inside museum was good but it got very repetitive with the text on the placcards after a while. There were some interactive bits but not a ton. The African Americans in Racing exhibit was informational and had facts I never heard before. The scavenger hunt for kids helped. As a disclaimer, I'm not a big horse racing fan. We spent 2.5 hours but it really could have been less.
