Amazing Day - We had the most wonderful private tour with Mr Than, he was a lovely knowledgeable guide, with a great sense of humour & gave us some unique opportunities to interact with some of the local Laos people which were an absolute highlight.
A scenic 2 hour private boat ride down the Mekong to the caves, followed by a gorgeous lunch on the opposite side of the river, with a beautiful view & wonderful local scarves & souvenirs being sold. We then headed to the Whisky village and sat & drank whisky & beer lao with the villagers, truly such a special & memorable experience.
The drive on to the waterfalls was long, but they are some of the most beautiful waterfalls we have seen and finally, we stopped at a Hmong village of the way back. If you have more time than we did in Luang Prabang, you may want to split the 2 trips.
We booked through Viator but would thoroughly recommend who they leveraged locally & most definitely, Mr Than, if you are lucky enough to get him as your guide (or even request him).

Fantastic Trip! - We had a fantastic trip with Mr Than which was great value for money. With a 2 hour boat ride in our own private boat down the Mekong river to the Pak Ou Caves and great lunch included overlooking the river. Fabulous opportunities to mix with the locals at both the whisky village and Hmong village as well as some of the most stunning waterfalls we have ever seen. Mr Than was very knowledgeable & we really enjoyed his company throughout the day. Would highly recommend.

This tour was so magical.... - This tour was so magical. We had a private long boat to ourselves and it exceeded my expectations. Seriously, Chansay was the best guide. Our dietary restrictions were fully adhered to. I loved visiting the villages. Our driver and guide were completely organized and on one accord. It was the best. Also, our tour guide took great photos!!!

This tour is a Laos visit must!!! - This tour was absolutely outstanding! Chansay Was our guide and he was truly the best! This tour truly exceeded my expectations. In fact, I took more photos here than I did at Ha Long Bay. This was above and beyond. The boat ride itself was totally worth the whole tour. The lunch halfway through the tour was the perfect resting point and our dietary restrictions were completely adhered to. I would absolutely recommend this tour.

Spectacular waterfalls and caves. - The caves and the waterfalls were awesome to see. We also visited a couple of small villages along the river to see how River Weed is flavored and dried for sale and well as how a few versions of rice alcohol is stilled.
My guide Kong was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I recommend.

A little bit of learning and a lot of fun - Bounsu was our guide for this full day trip and Somdy, our driver. They arrived at our hotel in Luang Prabang in the morning and we started our adventure by boat going down the Mekong River after a short walk from our hotel. Traveling down the river we stopped at a few rural villages to get an appreciation of daily life in the more provincial areas, seeing and sampling the local whiskey making (similar to the US moonshine), local weaving of fabrics and garments as well as the making of seaweed sheets flavored with garlic, tomato and sesame seed (even getting instruction from a local in its preparation). We all boated to the Pak Ou Cave to see the thousands of Buddha statues housed inside. Truly a marvel. The boat ride ended with a lunch at a local river side restaurant where we sampled some traditional Lao cuisine and the local beer. Then into the car where Somdy got us safely to the Kuang Si Waterfalls where we saw the various levels and even got to take a swim, enjoying the relief from the heat. After which we were taken Back to our hotel where we were able to shower off have a beer and head out for a nearby dinner and stroll thru the night market. A perfect day of exploring. Highly recommend both Bounsu and Somdy, as well as this tour.

One shot tour. - Pak Ou Cave and Kuang Si waterfall might be the most popular sightseeing points in Ruang Prabang. The tour planned to visit both of them and other local villages are plus. People are kind but the road condition was pretty bad.
Tour guide, forgot his name, likely Bun Su, was very helpful, his knowledge of Laos and Luang Prabang make my tour more interesting.

great experience - Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the tour, especially the boat trip.
The car was new and spacious, it’s very important, because the roads are dusty. Can not imagine going to waterfalls on Tuk Tuk.. The food was delicious ( a la carte)
