Awesome experience thanks to Howard and Horace! - It was a great experience from the beginning meeting Howard who assisted my friends and I with bands and explaining the process. Then he keep the party going during the wait time DJ and had all of us up dancing and having fun while waiting for each excursion. The Boat ride was awesome w Horace and it was a great ending to an amazing day! Can’t wait to come back !

Very excited - It was a very excited trip had fun absolutely love the horse riding love the food love the swimming pool love the view love all the person that was working there. They were very friendly. Just a very nice trip. I will come again.

Kemoy was the raft captain for me and my wife for our anniversary celebration we enjoyed it - The ocean bamboo rafting is fun its comfortable the raft captain kemoy he was perfectly trained for this he teach a lot of history about Jamaica,and the ocean, and even a lil bit about sandy bay. Kemoy is a good guide he let me even wanna come back nxt year with more friends I give that guide a 10/10 straight 🗯

Trip - We started off with bamboo ocean rafting and Richardo was very friendly and knowledgeable and funny. Then did horse riding led by Johnny . He was a great and funny host and made us feel safe and secure . Then finally we did the cruise which was the best part of the day very exciting

Best dayS ever! - We had so much fun on day one with the horseback ride and swim and the catamaran cruise that we came back on day two for the ocean rafting and the catamaran cruise again!!! Day one we took the last catamaran and although there wasn’t a big group on board, Captain Roy, DJ Howard, Ashley and George definitely made it a great party by getting everyone dancing and hyped. Ashley and George had the most amazing energy and FANTASTIC dance moves, while also teaching us the latest dances. Friday led the snorkeling crew from the back of the boat and everyone who went snorkeling had a great time. I wish I had the names of the rest of crew, because they were all amazing and deserve recognition! I had the opportunity to go back the next day for ocean rafting and talked the rest of the group into the catamaran! Ocean rafting was beautiful and peaceful with a lovely, experienced and very helpful captain guiding the raft and giving us some local history and pointing out amazing views. The rafting comes with fresh coconut water and a fantastic limestone massage. Followed by another amazing party cruise! This time the catamaran was absolutely full and after some swimming and snorkeling, we celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, marriages, etc Same amazing crew with the best captain and DJ around! Everyone had a great time and no one wanted to leave.

The small details you need to know… - Transport: Picked up from Riu MBJ @ 7:15am, after stopping at 2 other resorts, we arrived at Chukka at 8:30am. Bus was clean, fresh & had plenty of room. Arriving at Chukka: Although we had already booked and paid for our excursions, we had to stand in line for an additional hour to sign waivers and get armbands. We felt like since the waivers were electronic, we could’ve done this on the bus while in route to save time. Concierge (Bianca/Beyonce?) seemed rather nonchalant about this confusion and wait time. There was a young lady there celebrating her 21st birthday, however she was unable to do 2 of the 4 excursions due to there being a weight limit. She was not made aware of this at the time she paid for everything upfront. Sadly, she had to sit in the sidelines half the day while her family went about their activities. Weight Restrictions Horseback Ride N Swim – 230 lbs Snorkeling – 275 lbs Ocean Zipline – 265 lbs ATV - 300 lbs Amenities at Chukka: There is a gift shop, and snack bar. Most snacks are $2/each. Bring cash, ATM did not work. Glass bottom boat photos are done in an infinity pool with photographer standing at pools edge. A lot of ppl were originally under the impression that this was done out in the ocean as ‘may’ have been advertised. Chukka Horseback Ride/swim: We spent more time putting on helmets, and waiting to mount the horses than the actual trail ride. Please consider that at this location they make you dismount the horse, remove helmets and you have to mount different horses to swim. This took up a great deal of valuable time. When it was finally time to swim, we swam with horses for no more than 5 MINUTES!!! Literally, went out to Oceanside until we were waist deep on horseback and turned back for photo opportunity upon making it back to beach. In my experience, this tour was much longer at other Chukka locations (Ochoa rios) but that may have changed. Bamboo Raft Tour: This is not a ‘tour’. You get on a raft, they serve you hot champagne & coconut water (mixed) make sure you ask for ice, and you ride in raft about 5 minutes to a small area along the beach and receive limestone massage (knee down only). Although the limestone application is nice, These are not trained or certified masseuses, so don’t expect or request any more than that. This took about 20-30 minutes to apply as there are 2 riders to each raft, but 1 raft captain. We were completely exposed to the sun at this time, and despite applying sunscreen, this resulted in sunburn to face and shoulders, plan accordingly (hat, towel, long sleeve shirt, etc.) Raft captains were pleasant and respectful. Chukka Lunch (included): 4-6oz of Jerk chicken with 1 cup of brown rice & beans with small piece of bread. Due to the lag time of moving tour to tour, we did not get enough time to really sit and enjoy our food. Bamboo raft ended a little after 1pm, Party boat started at 1:30pm, stood in line waiting for food for 20 minutes. We had just enough time to wash our hands, and take 2-bites of food. Had to take food to go on boat. Chukka Catamaran Party Boat: Moderate size boat. 70% of seating was on net area, and textured boat deck surface. Bring a towel to sit on. ***Small note: by this point you’ve been in Jamaica long enough to know that rum punch is in abundance, but not fresh drinking water. PLEASE HYDRATE!! After getting up at 6:30 am for at 7:15 bus ride you will most likely already be dehydrated from the day prior (flight, transport, hotel bar, humidity, etc) bring your own refillable water bottle, preferably one that keeps drinks cold. The Party boat departed at 1:45, and returned at 3:30pm. 30 minutes of that was spent snorkeling/swimming. The rest of the time was the DJ gaslighting us by stopping & changing the music every 25 seconds to get someone (a female) to dance or shake her backside harder or faster… this is not an exaggeration. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD ON THIS BOAT!!! However, we still had a good time and learned a few dances. It also rained moderately for about 10minutes. Transport from Chukka to Resort: Upon docking back at chukka and locating our bus (which we had been strongly advised to remember the name of our driver and bus) we approached our bus only for the driver to argue with us that he was not our driver. He blocked us from getting on the bus. Mind you, at this point, 40-50 ppl are hungry, tired, drunk, sunburned, dirty, hot. After 15 minutes of this foolishness, he gives up and lets us on the bus. It was speculation that he did this because many riders did not tip him upon arrival to chukka that morning, so this was payback. This makes no sense because if you are returning for us, we will tip you at the end of your services. His childish behavior was the BEST way to guarantee NO TIP!! Additionally, when planning to visit this location, there is a swim bar and infinity pool, but you will need to take any break in the tours to take advantage of it because the timing between tours is not set to end or begin on time +- 10 minutes. Tour guides for Horses, and raft were very nice. If you do not have cash to tip these folks, do not hand them your phone to help take photos of you, or have them cater to you during the tour because your scared of horses or this is your first snorkeling experience. They are providing their service for the purpose of your tip! Although they are lovely people and culture, they are not going above and beyond for nothing. Bring cash for a tip and expect to tip $5-10 per excursion, more if they made you feel like you were the ‘VIP’.
