As someone who has spent countless hours riding the waves, the idea of riding a horse through the ocean was an adventure I couldn’t resist. The Chukka Ocean Outpost in Lucea promised a unique blend of coastal beauty and thrilling activities, and it certainly delivered.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly guides, Michael and Anthony, who immediately made me feel at ease. Their knowledge and passion for the area were evident, and they shared fascinating insights about the local culture and landscape. As we mounted our horses, I felt a familiar excitement, akin to catching the perfect wave.

Riding through the ocean was an exhilarating experience. The gentle waves lapped against the horses’ legs, and the cool sea breeze was a refreshing contrast to the warm Caribbean sun. It was a moment of pure connection with nature, reminiscent of my surfing days, but with a new perspective. After the horseback ride, it was time to take to the skies with the zipline adventure. Lenny and Smiley, our zipline guides, were both professional and entertaining, adding a touch of humor to the thrill of soaring above the lush landscape.

The zipline course took us across the stunning falls three times, each pass offering a new angle of the breathtaking scenery. The rush of adrenaline as I zipped through the air was akin to the thrill of riding a massive wave, and the views were nothing short of spectacular. The guides’ expertise ensured a safe and enjoyable experience, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the adventure.

A Refreshing Climb

The final leg of the adventure was a hike up the famous Dunn’s River Falls. Led by the knowledgeable D. Henry, we embarked on a journey that combined the beauty of nature with a touch of physical challenge.

The scenery was more impressive than any photograph could capture, with the vibrant greenery and sparkling water creating a picture-perfect backdrop. D. Henry guided us safely up the falls, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the experience at their own pace.

While the adventure was nearly flawless, the lunch at Margaritaville left much to be desired. The food was disappointing, and the lack of included drinks was a letdown. However, these minor inconveniences did little to dampen the overall experience.
