A Journey Through Time and Nature

As the sun began to rise over João Pessoa, I found myself eagerly awaiting the start of the Coqueirais Trail Tour. The anticipation of exploring Paraíba’s scenic south coast was palpable. Our guide, Lucky, arrived promptly at my hotel, his warm smile and attentive nature setting the tone for the day. As we embarked on our journey, the lush landscapes of Lucena unfolded before us, each turn revealing a new facet of this breathtaking region.

Our first stop was the Nossa Senhora da Guia Church, a stunning example of tropical baroque architecture. Standing before its intricate facade, I couldn’t help but marvel at the history etched into its walls. Leaving the church behind, we ventured into a vast plantation of over 500,000 coconut trees. The sheer scale of the grove was awe-inspiring, a testament to the region’s rich agricultural heritage. Walking through the rows of towering palms, I felt a profound connection to the land, its rhythms and cycles echoing those of the Amazon rainforest I had come to know so well.

The air was filled with the sweet scent of coconuts, and the gentle rustle of leaves created a symphony of nature’s music. Our journey continued to the ruins of the Bomsucesso Church, where an ancient gameleira tree stood as a guardian of history.
