Swiss beauty - Peaceful place, we stayed for 4 hours and really liked. Will definitely come back next year and explore the mountain. Best place for walk, sledge, ski, food and drinks. Time goes so quick so need few days to enjoy it properly

Great views and more - The summit of the Rigi, when the sky is clear, offers some of the most beautiful views in Switzerland, to which are added ample possibilities for walking, both in the warmer seasons and in winter, when there is the opportunity to ski and sledge, thanks to the lifts, between cogwheel trains and ski lifts. Absolutely recommended.

Visita Monte Rigi - The day was spectacular. The signage and explanation for finding the exit point was clear. We didn't line up. No complications! It was cheaper than buying it locally. On-time trains. We took beautiful pictures!

Spectacular scenery from Mount Rigi! - Travelled to Mount Rigi with my husband while celebrating our anniversary in Switzerland. The cogwheel railway was a comfortable and scenic ride. Views at the top of the mountain were incredible, and made our special day even more spectacular! We were very lucky with the weather, having warm sun and decent visibility in late October. Nice little shop and a couple of places to have a meal or snack. Make sure you check the cogwheel railway times carefully, as these change throughout different times in the year. Some of the walking areas can be a little steep, but pace yourself and enjoy the 360-degree views! We would definitely recommend a visit - Mount Rigi is such a beautiful place, and one of our favourite Swiss attractions!

Hiking with wonderful views on lakes and mountains - Absolutely an amazing experience that I enjoyed solely but would have been worth even with kids... wonderful sightseeing, good services, well pathways instructions!

Spectacular - We took the boat from Lucerne to the train which took us up to Mt. Rigi. Then we walked down hill to the cable car (very crowded) on a beautiful trail (not at all crowded). The day was magical with spectacular views and even cows with bells. We chose Mt. Rigi over Pilatus because the live cams and forecast showed better weather. The hotel concierge provided tickets for a much better price than the place in town.

Authentic Swiss Alps Experience - Don't miss out on this experience I'd you're staying in or near Lucerne. We took the train to the town of Arth & got the day pass to ride the train up to the peak. A restaurant, a gift shop and bathroom are available. We decided to hike the Sheidegg trail, which was an excellent decision (approx. Almost 3 hours). The views of the surrounding lakes and landscapes was breathtaking. The array of mountain flora was a pleasant surprise. The cow bells you hear along the way made it an authentic Swiss experience. The day pass allows you to take the train back up to the summit, which we did because the view was quite cloudy in the morning when we were there. Bring snacks, sandwiches and water. Some really nice picnic spots along the way.

Could be the most beautiful views on Earth - The views are so beautiful that we found them almost overwhelming. We bought all of our tickets at the main train station in Luzern (upstairs from the main concourse, open 07:00-21:00). The person spoke English and was very helpful in getting us the best deal- in our case we used our passports to buy a month’s half price travel fares (120 CHF each), which included an under 16 free travel family card. We got the boat from the Lido in Luzern to Weggis, the cable car from here to Rigi Kaltbad-First, then the cog wheel to the top (Rigi Kulm). After trying to take in the 360 degree views, we walked from the top to Rigi Staffel, from Rigi Staffel to Rotstock, then Rigi First, then around the Felsenweg (lake side of the mountain), then to Rigi Scheidegg. Total walk 5.5 miles, took our family 2 hours. From here we got the cable car to Kräbel, then waited 45 minutes for the next train back to Staffel. Then the train down to Rigi Kaltbad First and from there back to Weggis, the ferry and home. The website lists all of the train times - we could have avoided the 45 min wait if we’d walked faster as a family. All of this was covered by the day passes that we bought and the separate ferry ticket. We took a packed lunch for the day, snacks and water- there was only 1 place to refill the water bottles- beware! (on the ascent up to Rigi Scheidegg on the non lake side). So glad we did the trip- was unbelievably beautiful.

Ski Mount Rigi - Check the weather forecast for the mountains Snowing can also mean in NO vision on the slopes. NO VISIOn is not good for a new place to ski. If you have to rent skis STOP STOP StOP at the Reggie Rigi Kaltbad Plan to read the train schedule you have to wait sometimes an hour to get up the mountain. Off the train to the right. Very friendly man helped us rent skis. There is no lockers anyway so pack light. Locals ski Stoos. Mount Rigi is for family skiing.

No respect for turists - Awful experience. It is a shame that a place so beautiful is so bad well kept. People on the train and the lift have no respect for the others. Also the waiting time to go up is insanely high and the lift stays stuck at the platform for at least 20 minutes at a time.
