Highlights
  • Nyungwe Forest National Park - Morning hours: we will be driving for 4 to 5 hours until we reach at Uwinka/ starting point (Canopy Walkway bridge)
    We will have two stopover, the 1st in Nyanza and the 2nd one at Nyamagabe enjoying the tea plantation views along with landscape.

Afternoon hours: we will drive back to Kigali for 4 to 6 hours including 30 minutes for lunch.

The Canopy walkway adventure will take between 1 hour and 2 hours that includes hiking and bridge crossing.

Situated in the southwestern region, encompassing 1016 square kilometers, Nyungwe National Park spans across the formidable hills of southeastern Rwanda and holds the title as the most extensive montane rainforest in central and eastern Africa as well as one of the oldest, having existed prior to the Ice Age. This dense forest is a haven for biodiversity, with more than 1025 types of plants and in excess of 500 varieties of orchids and enormous lobelias. The park is a sanctuary for 13 different primate species, including chimpanzees and the Black and White Angolan colobus monkeys, in addition to populations of acclimated creatures such as Mangabeys and Blue Monkeys. Additionally, Nyungwe forest boasts its own Canopy, which is unique as the solitary canopy walk in East Africa.
