Beginning at the Uwinka Visitor Centre, the assembly point for the canopy challenge, participants are required to complete registration details for the canopy walk, and a park guide will be allocated. This guide will lead the group down to the canopy, alongside other registered participants, navigating through natural forest trails. It is recommended to be equipped with mud-proof hiking footwear, a raincoat and trousers, but don’t worry, wooden hiking poles are provided. The route down to the canopy is estimated to take around 45 minutes, depending on the group’s physical aptitude. Upon arrival at the canopy, the guide will instruct attendees on how to navigate the 200-metre canopy, suspended 60 metres above the forest floor, offering panoramic views of the wilderness.
Once you have reached the canopy, take some time to absorb your surroundings, capture some photographs and record videos. The length of stay here is dependent on the satisfaction of the guests, with direction from the guide. When the excursion is complete, guests will be required to make their way back to the Uwinka Visitor Centre, marking the end of the adventure.
