An ordinary floating market experience - After a long, slow ride from BKK in traffic, reached the Maeklong railway market in the afternoon and caught the 3 p.m. train movement; the vendors push back their tables, some on wheels, while the train crawls past and tourists scurry to get photos. It's all well-practiced. Then on to Amphawa, not far away. I don't know if the actual local vegetable market is more lively in the morning, but late afternoons & early evening it is mainly a food court expeirence for tourists.Besides the few boats on the water selling prepared foods, many stalls are set up in nearby lanes selling a variety of tempting eats. There are also boat rides, of course. Worth a trip if you haven't seen a floating market before, especially since it's closer than some more famous ones, or if you just want a day trip outside of BKK.
