Highlights
  • El Yunque National Forest - Our day will begin with a moderate to medium level hike, discussing local flora/fauna native to Puerto Rico, as well as key roles these played in our indigenous roots on the island. Hike is about 20 min into the rainforest (approx. 1 mile, or 4 laps around a track.) Upon arrival, we will set any belongings we have brought with us to the side and continue up another 10 min (.25 miles) to the natural water slide where we will be swimming. Life vests will be provided for those who need them. Once every guest goes down the water slide, we will return to where we left our belongings to enjoy some small but exciting jumps.
And finally - the cherry on top, the famous rope swing! All activities will be recorded and photos will be taken throughout your journey! Photos or it didn’t happen!
For whoever has worked up an appetite, I can provide recommendations to a local restaurant with authentic comida criolla. Please note: lunch is not included in tour pricing. Total hiking duration: 75 min.

10/10 worth it— ask for Louis as a guide! - Our tour guide Louis was the absolute best and made this tour extremely memorable. We received wonderful hospitality and Louis did a phenomenal job to make sure we were safe, taken care of, and learning throughout the tour. Highly recommend and will be telling my friends about this experience!!

Great time! - My family really enjoyed this tour! My 5 and 6-year-old both did fantastic on the hike, even the difficult parts. They did need support on some areas. We are told if you hike up, there is no way down except down the waterslide. My youngest went down the waterslide, but my 6-year-old panicked at the top and lost one of his shoes. One of our guides had to take him back the way we came without one shoe. The guide did find the shoe at the bottom eventually. My teenager enjoyed the rope swing and the rock jumping. Based on this I'm giving this 5 stars but there are two negatives: this tour does say with transportation but we had to take our own vehicle. The van was full (I guess they overbooked?), so we had to pay our own gas and tolls to get to El Yunque. Also, the meeting instructions say this tour begins at 9am. It doesn't. We didn't need pickup and we had to meet the tour guide at 7:30am.

Paul rocks! - This was the best excursion ever! I took my son on a trip to Puerto Rico and I wanted it filled with adventure. I knew if we drove the main entrance, we wouldn’t see all of the hidden gems. Paul and Justin took us up mountains, under caves, and did all the adventures! They even had us arriving extra early- so you enjoy the peace of the rainforest before everyone else gets there. Thanks , Paul and Justin! You guys rock!

Waterfall and cliff jumping - Our tour guide, Paul, was so accommodating and knowledgeable about the rainforest! He made sure our group stayed together and was safe when climbing up to get to the waterfall and sliding down. 10/10 would recommend and go again. Go if you have the chance (the earlier, the better)!

Kids favorite experience of the trip! - I (30s) went with my father (60s) and my kids (11 & 13). It was a little hard for my father, but he got through all of it and had fun. My kids & I loved it. They were at the front of the group the whole time. Tristan, our guide, was great. 10/10 would do it again. Make sure you bring tennis shoes you don't mind ruining. Plan on leaving the rest of your items in the van while you hike. Carry as little as possible. Your guide will take photos and send them to you at the end.

Great way to experience el Yunque - The trip was exactly what I was looking for to get a taste of El Yunque. Definitely be prepared with water shoes and perhaps a water proof bag as the tour includes some maneuvering over slippery rocks and sliding down a water slide. There was a bit of a delay returning to San Juan as we waited for a different driver but overall a well orchestrated experience.
