You’ve always wanted to surf, and now here’s your opportunity to experience the thrill of catching a wave on Puerto Rico’s preferred learn to surf location, La Pared Beach in Luquillo. Conveniently located on the east coast, and founded by Former National Surf Champion Brian Ramos, this fun packed lesson will teach you everything you need to know to ride a wave with confidence and will have you up in your feet asking for more!
- Minimum age is 8 years
- Participants have a check-in 30 minutes prior to lesson time
- Not permitted for pregnant women

Participants have a buffer of 30 minutes check-in prior to official start time at Surfing Puerto Rico . We are located near the roundabout at La Pared Beach. You will meet your instructor in the sand by the Surfboards!

Surfing was great! - This was my second time surfing and first lesson. It was my boyfriends second lesson. Angel was fun and a great teacher. I finally got up on the board for the first time and it was amazing and my boyfriend was getting up on the board every time by the end of the two hours. We had a great time learning and chatting with him, he also gave us some granola bars and water. Angel also took our picture! He was great and I highly recommend taking a lesson here!

Great Experience - The beach was perfect for surfing, but has a serious rip current. The instructor was very helpful, informative and attentive. Great for all ages.

Great first time surf experience. - Had a great time surfing the Luquillo waves. Angel was a great instructor and a lot of fun. The beach was awesome, all sandy bottom and we were able to ride a number of waves all the way into the shore as beginners. We highly recommend Surfing Puerto Rico.

Fun surf lesson in nice shallow water - Great lesson on shore prepared us well and we got up almost right away once in the water. The instructor helped us get positioned and gave us a little push to catch each wave if we needed it. Fun time!

60 year old lady from Michigan surfs! - Much better than expected, in fact, it was great. The water was warm and the instructor, Sebastian, did an awesome job helping everyone in the group get up and surfing. As a 60 year old woman who has had total hip replacement, reconstructive knee surgery and numerous scopes, I was doubtful about getting up. I did and it was fun. I'm not a strong swimmer but felt safe in the location and confident with the instructors. In fact, I wish we started out a little deeper so we had more time to ride the wave!

8th time at Surfing Puerto Rico! - Back to Surfing Puerto Rico for our 8th time! We began taking our family to Brian when our kids were young. Now that the kids are older they always want to return to Surfing Puerto, now with Kali. The kids love the action of surfing and getting better with each trip...Mom and Dad love that Kali and her team make the day safe, easy, and fun as we chill with our doggy on the beach and watch.

Would recommend for families! - My husband, my daughter (9) and myself were all able to get up multiple times. Our instructor, Sebastian, was very patient and kind. We had a blast and would do it again.

bad experience - Well, we paid for 3 classes, it is nothing like the pictures, we got there and couldn't even find a truck or tent; eventually, a guy came in his personal car with a board. No more students. there was not a place to secure your phone, shoes etc. For snacks he run and purchased one big bottle of water ,which he shares with the customer. I am not sure what happened, but after the class was done, my daughter refused to go back for the remaining classes the following days. She loves surfing and had taken classes before.
