No more mojitos for you! - Why should you book this specific tour? CHAAN, CHAAN, CHAAAN! The tour guide, obviously! Felix or by the end of the trip, Tio Feli, makes you feel like a part of something bigger. Felix has the ability to bring strangers together and give them an unforgettable experience! The other staff, bus driver/photographer, and life guards were great too. All along the way, they are there helping you, you are never left alone. **Every tour group leader we passed commented how lucky we were to have Felix. He truly loves his job which makes this experience a million times better. If your lucky enough to have him you’ll understand!** I can see why some people may not want to wear the helmets and life jackets but it is so important. This is a rigorous hike. Safety is a priority of all staff on this trip. From the waterfall slides, to the cliff jumping, you are climbing over slick rocks. It honestly stressed me out to see other groups hitting the water hard with out safety gear. What to wear: As I said, it’s a lot of slick rocks. Numerous tour groups climb through the rainforest wet, also it’s a RAINforest. My hiking boots were water lodged which didn’t help with the hiking to each activity. I recommend looking for good non slip shoes that are light weight. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was delicious! I recommend the lechón, arroz y habichuelas. Don’t be basic and get a burger.

Do this tour! You won’t regret it. - Adrianna was the best tour guide I could ask for! She’s incredibly friendly and super knowledgeable of El Yunque, and she clearly loves what she does. She was always looking out for our safety and ensuring that we were comfortable and having a good time. I was nervous about attending this as a solo traveler, but there were plenty of other people traveling by themselves too, and the entire group was so amicable and welcoming. Choosing to go on this tour was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a fun yet challenging hike, and I encourage everyone to leave a tip for your tour guide at the end of the trip!

Jason and Jay were... - Jason and Jay were amazing guides! We had so much fun embracing the mud. The second portion up to the slide was a little difficult but worth the experience.

Outstanding athletic adventure activity - This is an extremely athletic activity that is suited only for people who are fit (no wannabees!). It starts with a gentle uphill walk through deep and sticky mud. There is a section that is extremely narrow (7inches wide)- too narrow for many large people. Then follows a lot of climbing over steep, slippery, wet and sharp rocks hand-over-foot and precarious walking in flowing streams. Obviously, arm and leg strength as well as GOOD balance are absolutely necessary! There is a 12-foot slippery slide at the top, followed by a 3-5-10-15 foot jump into a pool (you pick the height you are comfortable with), and lastly a 12-foot Tarzan swing. Life vests are provided, but one should be comfortable being dunked deep into water and swimming to the sides of the pools. Most people who did all the jumps were extremely happy they did so. There is some educational benefit to this activity; but it really should be considered only an adventure. Because there are several sections that are extremely rocky, one should NOT go barefoot, or wear flip flops or sandals or even swim socks (unless they have thick 1/4+ inch soles). Only cameras in waterproof cases should be brought; and many people lose things they think are strongly attached or pocketed (watches, money, etc.). Regardless, one's shoes will be totally covered in mud at the end of the adventure. ALERT: There are no facilities anywhere (no toilets, drinking water, etc.); except one can be hosed off after completing this 3-4 hour activity.

Viator stands above the rest! - Viator has the absolute best guides! They are head and shoulders above and beyond the competition. I hope they are paying Jason and Pablo the highest wage possible for what they do. Both gentlemen freely shared their expertise, experience and opinions which was appreciated when wanting a local perspective. Please, when trying to decide which company to tour with. Viator stands above the rest. So appreciate both guides!!!

Amazing Experience - This trip was so much fun. Our guide, Jason, was very friendly and he was clearly passionate about El Yunque. He explained a lot about the different plants, trees, and animals and he helped everyone in the group get to everything they wanted to do with the different cliff jumps/rope swings/slides while being safe and comfortable. I’d highly recommend it!
