Highlights
  • Khor Virap - Khor Virap, an Armenian monastery established in 642, translates to “deep hole” in Armenian. It is a significant pilgrimage site for the Armenian Apostolic Church. Notably, it was constructed on the former site of a royal prison where Gregory the Illuminator, the patron saint and first official leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was imprisoned for 13 years by the Armenian king. The monastery offers a unique view of the biblical Mount Ararat.
  • Areni Wine Factory - Areni is renowned as the birthplace of winemaking, with viticulture in Armenia dating back to ancient times. The region is home to many wild vineyards and numerous local grape varieties. It also hosts Armenia’s oldest winery, where visitors can sample exquisite wines made from the finest grape varieties.
  • T’rchuneri (Bird) Cave - Areni Cave, also known as Bird Cave, is located near the Gnishik tributary of the Arpa River, at a height of 30 meters. The cave, carved into the rock, consists of interconnected spaces with narrow passages. Its accessible location makes it a popular destination even during holidays in Armenia. Since 2007, archaeological excavations have uncovered artifacts dating back to 4200-3500 BC, including pottery, plant remains, apricot and grape seeds, reed-woven items, textiles, and women’s jewelry.
  • Noravank Monastery - Noravank Monastery is nestled among stunning steep red rocks on the edge of a winding gorge. Founded in the 12th century on the site of older structures, the Noravank complex is renowned for its medieval architectural masterpieces and its picturesque setting, leaving a lasting impression. It stands as one of the grand monuments of Armenian medieval architecture.

Book if you want to see stunning places - Our trip with David as our driver and Yoanna as our guide was fantastic. We visited beautiful places, Yoanna told us a lot about the history of the places we visited and those we passed by. I would 100% recommend this trip as you have the opportunity to see mount Ararat at its best (though we could not:().

Pleasant and informative trip with Tigran - Excellent and helpful staff. Tigran was a safe, patient, courteous and informative driver. His car was clean and comfortable with wifi. Private tours cost more, but definitely worth it for this trip

A fantastic, professional, and easy touring experience in Armenia. Highly recommend Jan Armenia. - From booking to pick up and drop off at the hotel on the day of the tour, the experience I had with Jan Armenia was fantastic. I can’t rate highly enough my driver, Samuel (Sam). He was a wealth of local knowledge and it was a pleasure to interact with him as we drove to the various sites we visited. I would definitely recommend Jan Armenia to all looking for a professional approach to a individual tour. I have used Jan Armenia on two previous occasions.

Absolutely perfect - We have had an amazing experience recently. The tour was really well organized. Our driver Ara took us to the most beautiful places in Armenia. Also he had great driving skills and could communicate with us in English fluently. The vehicle was very comfortable and we didn't even notice how long the road was. The nature in Armenia is absolutely perfect, food is delicious and people are kind and helpful. My family is in love with Armenia, surely we will visit Armenia again, this time for a longer period of time, and take more tours from this company. Huge thanks to the driver and the office manager, who helped us to choose the tours.
