Hot Air Balloon With Luxor West Bank Tour
Nile River Valley - Early in the morning, a representative from “Dr Mo Tours Egypt” will pick you up for an exhilarating hot air balloon ride. You’ll be transferred to the marina, where you can enjoy soft drinks before taking a motorboat to the west bank. From there, you’ll be taken to the balloon ride’s take-off area, soaring over the world’s largest open-air museum (Luxor). The balloon ride lasts 45 minutes and departs daily, though advance confirmation is highly recommended. After landing, you’ll explore Luxor’s West Bank on a private half-day tour, allowing you to visit each site at your own pace.
Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon in Thebes, Luxor, Egypt.
Valley of the Kings - Next, you’ll head to the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank. This ancient burial ground is a must-see for visitors. You’ll visit four royal tombs, including those of Ramses, Horemheb, and Merenptah.
Tomb of Ramases IX - The Tomb of King Ramesses IX, the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. Before becoming king, he was known as Amonhirkhopshef, the fifth son of Ramesses III. He became crown prince after his four elder brothers predeceased him. The tomb is richly decorated, with vibrant colors and detailed artwork, including a ceiling depicting the goddess Nut. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, and despite some deterioration, the tomb remains one of the most ornate.
Tomb of Merenptah - In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the creator god of Memphis, patron of craftsmen and architects. In his falcon form, he was placed in tombs to protect the deceased on their journey to the afterlife. Tomb 8 in the Valley of the Kings is the burial site of Pharaoh Merneptah, son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret. Discovered by Howard Carter in 1903, the tomb features fewer side chambers but taller corridors and rooms. Merneptah’s tomb was built on a single axis, with a wider entrance than earlier tombs.
Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut) - Additional tickets are required if you wish to visit this tomb.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - After visiting the tombs, you’ll be transported to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari. She was the only woman to rule Egypt as Pharaoh and was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun, belonging to the same dynasty.
