- Luxor Travels - Day 1:
In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your central Luxor hotel or harbor by an air-conditioned vehicle for a fully guided 5-hour tour. Your first stop will be the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank. This ancient burial ground is a must-visit for anyone in Luxor. Here, you’ll explore four royal tombs, including those of Ramses, Horemheb, Merenptah, and, of course, King Tut. Tutankhamun’s tomb is the only one in the Valley of the Kings that was found nearly intact in 1922 by Howard Carter. While Tut’s famous golden mask is displayed at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, you’ll have the chance to marvel at the young king’s royal mummy here.
After visiting the tombs, you’ll head to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari), the only woman to have ruled Egypt as Pharaoh. She was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun and belonged to the same dynasty. Next, you’ll visit the Colossi of Memnon, the two largest ancient statues in Egypt, dating back to the era of King Amenhotep III, who was the father of King Akhenaten and grandfather of King Tutankhamun. After the tour, you’ll be transported back to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Day 2:
In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your Luxor hotel for a fully guided day tour. Your first destination will be the Karnak Temples on Luxor’s East Bank, where you’ll see the Temple of Amon, the Granite Scarab of Amenophis III, and the Sacred Lake. Karnak is an incredibly inspiring site. After Karnak, you’ll visit the Luxor Museum, which houses a unique collection of ancient artifacts found in Luxor, including some from Tutankhamun’s tomb. You’ll also see several mummies.
Next, you’ll visit Luxor Temple, dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun-Ra, Mut, and Khonsu. Here, you’ll see statues of Ramses the Great and the Avenue of Sphinxes. These ancient temples are a must-see for visitors to Luxor. After the tour, you’ll be transported back to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle.
- Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut) - Enjoy a guided tour to uncover the mysteries of ancient mythology, including the enigma of King Tutankhamun, the world’s most famous king. This young monarch from the New Kingdom ascended the throne at around 10 years old and died at just 19. You’ll have the opportunity to come face to face with his royal mummy in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings.
