Temple of Philae - After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Luxor. Our tour guide will then take you on a day tour to the Temple of Edfu, where you’ll visit the magnificent temple dedicated to Horus, considered by many to be the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian mythology, this is where the falcon-headed god Horus resided. Next, drive to Koum Ombo city to visit the Temple of Koum Ombo, which stands on elevated ground overlooking the Nile. This temple is unique due to its double entrance, each dedicated to a different deity: “Haroeris” with his falcon head and “Sobek.”
- Arrive in Aswan and have lunch at a local restaurant.
Tour the High Dam and Philae Temple. Discover the remarkable city of Aswan, including The High Dam, constructed by Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 AD to protect Egypt from Nile floods. Afterward, enjoy a sail on the Nile River to visit the Temple of Philae. Overnight stay at a hotel in Aswan.
Abu Simbel Temple and Aswan High Dam
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - After a breakfast box from your hotel in Aswan, check out. At 4:30 am, you will be transferred by a private A-C van to Abu Simbel. The original site, known as Meha in ancient times, was first documented in the 18th Dynasty when Ay and Horemheb had rock-cut chapels carved into the hills to the south. Upon arrival, visit the Abu Simbel Temples, built by King Ramses II. The first and largest temple is dedicated to the god Rahorakhty, while the second, smaller temple is dedicated to Ramses II himself and his wife, Queen Nefertari. After your tour, drive back to Aswan to see the Aswan High Dam, also constructed by President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 AD to protect Egypt from Nile floods.
Before 6:00 PM, drive back to Luxor or, if you are flying from Aswan Airport, enjoy a free transfer.
