Upon arrival in Edfu, you will visit the magnificent Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus. This temple is considered by many to be the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian mythology, it is the site where the falcon-headed god Horus avenged his father Osiris’s murder by defeating Seth. A lunch box is included.
- Temple of Kom Ombo - Next, continue your tour to Kom Ombo, approximately a 45-minute drive from Edfu. Upon arrival in Kom Ombo, you will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, which stands on elevated ground overlooking the Nile. This temple is unique due to its double entrance, each dedicated to a different deity: Haroeris, with his falcon head, and Sobek, with his crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo honors both Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris, the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Kom Ombo is also notable for its vast sugar-cane fields.
