• Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut) - Known as KV62, the tomb of Tutankhamun is the final resting place of the Eighteenth Dynasty pharaoh, Tutankhamun (reigned c. 1332–1323 BC), located in the Valley of the Kings. The tomb features four chambers, an entrance staircase, and a corridor. It is smaller and less elaborately decorated compared to other royal tombs of the era, likely initially intended for a non-royal individual before being repurposed for Tutankhamun following his untimely death. Despite its compact size, the tomb was densely packed with a variety of funerary items and personal belongings, including coffins, furniture, clothing, and jewelry. Although robbers broke into the tomb twice shortly after the burial, Tutankhamun’s mummy and most of the burial items remained largely undisturbed.

Situated opposite Luxor, it is celebrated as a masterpiece of ancient architecture. The temple’s three grand terraces ascend from the desert floor into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Hatshepsut’s tomb, KV20, is located within the same massif, topped by El Qurn, a pyramid for her mortuary complex. A causeway connects the complex to the valley temple, positioned 1 km (0.62 mi) east at the desert’s edge.
• Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon, known in Arabic as el-Colossat or es-Salamat, are two enormous stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, standing at the entrance of the ruined Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III, the largest temple in the Theban Necropolis. Erected in 1350 BC, they were renowned among ancient Greeks, Romans, and early modern travelers and Egyptologists. The statues feature 107 Roman-era inscriptions in Greek and Latin, dating from AD 20 to 250, with many inscriptions on the northern statue referencing the Greek mythological king Memnon, whom the statue was mistakenly believed to represent.
