The dam is fed by the River Nile, and the reservoir forms Lake Nasser. Construction on the project began in 1960 and was completed in 1968. It was officially inaugurated in 1971. The total investment in constructing the dam reached $1 billion.
Unfinished Obelisk - The unfinished obelisk is the largest known ancient obelisk and is located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt in Aswan (Assuan), Egypt. Archaeologists claim the female pharaoh known as Hatshepsut sanctioned its construction. However, modern engineers question whether the Dynastic Egyptians could have achieved this task.
