- Areyksat Ferry Dock - Your pickup from your lodging is scheduled for 7:30am, followed by a brief drive to our rendezvous at the Areyksat ferry dock, situated in proximity to the diamond island. Upon arrival, we’ll prepare our bicycles, conduct a brake inspection, and our cycling guide will provide a concise orientation regarding the bike, local traffic, and the tour itinerary. Subsequently, we board a local ferry for a brief crossing over the Mekong River, leading us to the rural outskirts of Phnom Penh, which is a mere 5 to 10 minutes away by ferry.
During this half-day biking adventure, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the picturesque rural landscape surrounding Phnom Penh. Our route takes us amidst orchards of mangoes, fields of bananas, lemongrass, corn, and various vegetable plots. You’ll get to see expansive rice paddies, serene lotus ponds, and potentially spot a variety of wetland birds. The journey also includes interactions with local craftsmen during visits to both a sedge and silk weaving workshop. To top off the experience, we’ll savor a traditional Khmer lunch at a local’s home, immersing ourselves in the regional cuisine before pedaling back to our point of departure to conclude the tour.
