You will have some free time here to admire the local artworks, sample the ice cream, or check out the historic railway station.
- Barrys Bay Cheese - An optional stop at this iconic local cheesemonger (open weekdays only).
From Barrys Bay, it takes 15 minutes to drive around the end of the harbour to the township of Akaroa.
- Akaroa - It’s time to explore Akaroa township at your own pace. There is plenty to see and do, from small shops and incredible scenic walks to numerous lunch options (lunch is not included).
- Otepatotu Scenic Reserve - Admire the view and snap a few photos from high above Akaroa Harbour on the Summit Road.
- Christchurch - On the way back to Lyttelton, we will drive through the suburbs of Christchurch. If time permits, we will also drive through the center of Christchurch city. Depending on your cruise ship’s departure time, you may have some time in Christchurch City before heading back to the port.
