The tour begins with an exploration of the historic port town of Lyttelton. The journey continues with a drive up Evans Pass, a steep road offering breathtaking views of Lyttelton Harbour. Just 15 minutes from Lyttelton, near the summit of the Port Hills, lies Cattlestop Crag along with other pop-up climbing spots. The guide will prepare suitable rock climbs for the group, and before climbing begins, a safety briefing will be conducted to teach the use of the equipment. Once everyone is comfortable with the system, the guide will continue to set up climbs that are appropriately challenging. With over 2,000 climbing routes in Christchurch, there are numerous options available for all experience levels. Enjoy a picnic-style lunch with views of either Christchurch or Lyttelton, depending on the climbing area chosen. After lunch, the guide will set up an abseil for participants to experience lowering themselves from the top of a cliff. Upon leaving the crag, the guide will return the group to the meeting point at the port.
