Madeira Peaks with the driver Luis Castro!! - Madeira peaks driver Luís We did a tour with Luís Castro and we can say that it was our best day in Madeira, Luís knows a lot about the history of the island, the first stop he took us to taste poncha, a very traditional Madeira drink, the off road part he talked a lot about the plants, the levadas and the laurissilva forest, for lunch we stopped in Santana at the Espiga restaurant which was phenomenal, Luís recommended the traditional dishes as well as the famous bolo do caco with garlic butter and everything was delicious and at a good price! Halfway through the tour there's a stunning secret stop! The last part, just as he said, turned out to be the most epic part of the tour! The climb to the peaks, the view of faial, the Royal Path with the mystical forest, and the last stop at pico do areeiro! 5 stars for Luís ! 5 stars for Greendevilsafari ! When we go back to madeira we will definitely choose green devil and Luís as our driver again! Thank you

Great excursion! - Our guide lino was just perfect!! Bravo to him for a wonderful day spent in his company and the company of the other participants who were simply super pleasant! Landscapes breathtaking beautiful pictures of pleasant apes! Crazy laughter! And the restaurant really excellent and cheap and in olus super good and pleasant! What more can I say?? Jurrasic Park meets Madeira with picturesque little coastal towns and a sprinkle of breathtaking mountain views - This tour was our second tour with Green Devil and our fantastic driver Miguel. When we booked this tour we specifically asked for Miguel after the superb experience on our first tour "Porto Moniz - Enchanted Terraces: Open 4x4 Full Day Tour" with him. He is an excellent local driver you can ask for with all his stories, information and history about Madeira. You can ask him anything. A very chilled, humorous, humble guy. During that aforementioned tour he mentioned to me the Santana off-road tour during our time in the Poncha bar while I was having a Poncha. He said the tour through Santana is indescribable beautiful and a total contrast. Oh boy! After the Santana tour I can say it definitely was! The journey between the stops along the coast and through the mountains was magnificent. Miguel calls the forests in the mountains "Jurassic Park of Madeira" and they deserves that name. If you ever watched the Jurassic Park movies now you can imagine how it feels like driving through those. The small towns at the coast are very picturesque, inviting to stroll around and take in that relaxing Madeirian life. Highly recommended to do one of those Santana tours.

Wonderful day - Superb day thanks to our guide LINO who introduced us to the vegetation, the passage through the middle of the forest with the open-top 4x4 and breathtaking places. We were able to taste local products (honey, fruits and rum). And a special mention for lunch at the restaurant in Santana (it was a treat). Unforgettable day thanks to LINO. Thanks again.

Above the clouds - This was a fabulous trip with spectacular views. Off road was so much fun & thanks to our great driver Miguel we were in very safe hands! Miguel was so knowledgeable & had a great sense of humour! We were above the clouds at the highest peak, we did rum tasting & had a lovely lunch, visiting many villages & view points. Lunch is extra but optional. We met some lovely people too from Germany & the Netherlands. Would do this again but would love to explore other side next time, hopefully with Miguel of course 😉

Fantastic tour with Jose! - We LOVED this tour. It was probably the highlight of our two-week trip through mainland Portugal, Madeira and the Azores. Jose was a fantastic guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the fruit, vegetables and plants in the area, and we learned so much from him during the trip. We especially loved that he would pull over to pick fresh herbs from the side of the road for us to smell - such a cool experience! The peaks were also INCREDIBLE. It was so cool to be able to see all of these different sights without a ton of hiking required.

Excellent trip but poor restaurant in Santana - Our driver Nuno was excellent and safe driver and trip was really nice 👍 Only minus was the restaurant which Green Devil recommended for stop in Santana. We recommend the tour but not the restaurant in Santana.

Jokes about miscarriages and sexual comments, met with TERRIBLE customer service. STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! - One of the worst things I have ever experienced. I am 5 months' pregnant and our tour guide made jokes about me losing my baby on the bumpy drive through the forest (the company was aware that I was pregnant when I booked the trip and confirmed it was not a problem). The tour guide said he would "put a new baby inside me" if I did lose it but that it might be difficult because he is an "old man". The guide continued to make inappropriate comments of this nature throughout the day. I would have left the trip as soon as it happened, had we not been in the middle of the forest with no public transport options available. Justifiably, I made a private complaint directly to the company to bring the very serious incident to their attention. They tried to guilt trip me into not making a public review and didn't even offer me so much as a refund (the VERY least they could have done given the traumatic experience I endured). They excused the shocking behaviour on the basis that the guide is a "loving grandfather" and because the other guests laughed at the jokes. They completely disregarded the severity of the comments and how I was made to feel on one of their trips. I strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. There are plenty of other companies that offer the same tours on the island that are also cheaper. We had an absolutely brilliant experience doing the west coast trip with a different provider.
