Great boat trip to Shell Key - I came down to St Pete Beach for a girls trip and we knew we wanted to do a boating activity. We chose to do the three hour Shell Key trip and it was great. The ride to Shell Key was through the bay and the captain gave tidbits about the area. We had a little over an hour at Shell Key and found awesome shells and even a few sand dollars. On the ride back we went by the beach and saw a ton of dolphins. The boat was clean and had a bathroom and plenty of seating. I would definitely recommend this activity!

Sun and seashells - What a lovely day! Easy check in, Smooth ride and a great day. Bring your own bag cause they charge for them. But!!!! The crew made us custom necklaces for free, with our shells. What fun to wear them all weekend. Will recommend and would return too.

Shell Island was beautiful - This was a wonderful outing for me, my husband, and daughter. We had a gorgeous day and Shell Island was the best experience! The staff was all super helpful, and my daughter loved her shell necklace that the first mate made her on the way back from the island. Do this - you'll love it! My only complaint is that the day went by too quickly.

Magnificent views - The trip over was beautiful. We loved seeing all the pretty houses along the shore. We was hoping to see dolphins but was still happy to have gone. Once we got there we were able to find so many beautiful shells! It was a great experience!

Wear water shoes onto Shell Key Preserve! Your feet will thank you. - What fun!! If you park in the garage across the street, you can pay for parking when you check in, $7 for the day, which is super convenient. Captain Greg and Captain Scott did a fabulous job. We saw so many dolphins. We got to Shelly Key Preserve and found a spot to lay our beach towels. Then, off to shell hunting. One of the young girls I saw found a huge conch shell. Water was warm. Wear water shoes. I didn’t pack them and wish I did, it would have came in handy walking out to the shore stepping on all the shells. On the way back, Captain Scott made complimentary necklaces for the girls, which they proudly wore. We bought sodas and snacks and enjoyed the relaxing boat ride back. You can bring a cooler and bags onto the island. I wore my suit and wish I would have brought a change of clothes because afterwards I wanted to go shopping at John’s Pass. Overall, a great excursion.

Wonderful and Relaxing Trip - Our little visitor from Wisconsin wanted to go to Shell Key to collect, what else, but shells. The weather was perfect. We rode the boat from John’s Pass to the island via the intercostal waterway, stayed on the island for an hour, then returned to the pass via the beach side of the Gulf. There were lots of shells to be found and we all had a great time.
