Amazing, 100% recommend - We loved this tour. Fransico goes the extra mile to make this a special day. From bringing blankets and coffee to a perfect sunrise spot, to providing lots of background information about the island.
Fransico is more than a guide. He makes you feel comfortable, takes amazing photos and brings a smile to your face!

Incredible experience - Exceptional. Francisco was above and beyond, from the coffee and blankets in the morning, to timing everything just right to avoid the crowds, to providing so much insight about Madeira that I did not get on any other tour, to all the personalized photo ops. I could not have asked for a better experience, thank you so much this was the best part of my trip!! Hiking tips: I took a long sleeve, a sweater, and a rain jacket and that worked well. It’s bitingly cold before sunrise then heats up quickly after. I wore running shoes with rubber on the soles and those were good enough as the paths were dry and not slippery. We had ideal weather. Book this tour without hesitation!!

Top of the world Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo - Amazing guided hike from Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo. Our guide Francisco was fantastic. He made me feel at ease when I said I was scarred about the stairway to heaven section of the trail (its not scarry at all. Silly me).
Francisco took some lovely candid photos through out the day, and provided coffee and blankets for sunrise which was a lovely touch.
Francisco's friend Goncalo drove between the peaks so we had transport waiting for us when we finished the trail. Goncalo is hilarious. It was lovely to have him join us for the transfers.
Would highly recommend this tour.
Overland Maderia are very organised and reply to your emails/texts quickly. The tours are great value for money (book directly and not through a third party).
Will definitely be booking with Overland Maderia again.

Absolutely recommended - Fantastic guided hike from Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo.
Our guide Francisco picked us up at the hotel at 5:30 am for the ride to the starting point, from where we waited for the sunrise while enjoying a coffee. Francisco told us everything we needed to know about the hike and along the way he told us all the information about Madeira, the Picos and flora and fauna during the hike. He took photos and a drone video of me and my partner. When the hike became a bit tougher, you took over the pace and made sure we didn't go too fast. After the hike you took us to his village Santana for the viewpoint there. As a bonus, we also visited a cane sugar distillery and finished with a Poncha, after which he took us back to the hotel. A wonderfully active and informative day. We enjoyed it.
