Along the Vereda dos Balcões route, travelers will encounter Madeira’s native and endemic species, adding various shades of green to the Laurissilva forest. Keep an eye out for tree species from the Lauraceae family and exotic plants along the trail’s edges.

Fortim do Faial offers a strategic stop, with stunning views of the ocean and the jagged coastline. Heading towards Ponta de São Lourenço, we are surprised by a lunar landscape, with dramatic rock formations and the sea as far as the eye can see.
