Highlights
  • Madeira - Choose from the East, West, South, or North of the Island.
  • Camara De Lobos - Our tour begins in “Câmara de Lobos,” a fishing village on the west side of Funchal. The boats in the small bay create a unique island landscape. Named by João Gonçalves Zarco due to the abundance of monk seals in the bay, this place is famous for the traditional Poncha, a drink made with citrus, honey, and local rum.
  • Cabo Girao - Next, we visit the world’s second-highest cliff and Europe’s highest (580m) – (1775ft). A major tourist spot, it offers a stunning view of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal. Natural sea erosion has formed caves and terrain along the coast.
  • Ribeira Brava - An important town connecting the North and the rest of the island’s west. Ribeira means river, and Brava means wild. The main attraction is the mother church, built in the 16th century and modified over time. You can also visit the São Bento fort and enjoy a coffee.
  • Ponta Do Sol - Known as the hottest municipality on the island, it boasts the longest hours of sunshine, a beautiful beach, and great spots to eat or drink.
  • Madalena do Mar - A small village on the southwest coast with stunning sea and cliff views.
  • Calheta - One of the island’s most important municipalities due to its size and sun exposure. It features a good beach and is known for its large production of local rum (sugar cane).
  • Prazeres - A Portuguese parish in Calheta, covering 13 km². Famous for its pedagogical farm with a variety of farm animals, it’s a great place to enjoy tea and cider (from apples).
  • Ponta do Pargo - Part of Calheta, it connects with Porto Moniz, Satana, and Funchal. The lighthouse offers an incredible view, making it a popular tourist area. You can also enjoy good tea here.
  • Achadas da Cruz - Located in Porto Miniz, at an altitude of 575 meters. Known for its cable car that provides access to a secluded beach.
  • Miradouro da Santinha - In Porto Moniz, this viewpoint offers a superb view over the village and Ilhéu Mole.
  • Porto Moniz - Situated in northwest Madeira, its terraced slopes with dry stone walls and heather broom fences protect crops from the north winds. The main attractions are its unique natural pools, a major island highlight. From the pools to the pier, you can enjoy local fish and seafood and visit the aquarium in the São João Batista fort.
  • Ribeira da Janela - A parish in Porto Moniz, known for its rocks contrasting with the sea.
  • Seixal Natural Pool - A picturesque village with vegetables and vineyards surrounded by heather. Its coastline is framed by mountains, featuring one of the island’s most famous beaches, recently awarded for its unique landscape of vegetation and sea contrast.
  • Sao Vicente - Located in the north between basaltic lava rows, São Vicente is a charming village with narrow streets and old houses. Home to volcanic caves, this tour requires more time and is best saved for another visit.
