Highlights
  • Casco Historico de Toledo - You will enjoy it with our guided walking and at your own pace
  • Alcazar de Toledo - The Alcázar of Toledo is a stone fortification located in the highest part of Toledo, Spain. Once used as a Roman palace in the 3rd century, it was restored under Charles I (Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor) and his son Philip II of Spain in the 1540s. In 1521, Hernán Cortés was received by Charles I at the Alcázar, following Cortes’ conquest of the Aztecs. Most of the alcázar was rebuilt, or restored, between 1939 and 1957 after the Siege of the Alcázar of the Spanish Civil War.
  • Catedral Primada - The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo is a Roman Catholic church and it is the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Toledo.

The cathedral of Toledo is one of the three 13th-century High Gothic cathedrals in Spain and is considered, in the opinion of some authorities, to be the magnum opus of the Gothic style in Spain.

Beautiful tour of Toledo - Toledo was a beautiful medieval city that was well worth visiting from Madrid. Only an hours bus ride away so manageable with young children. The tour guides were excellent providing information in English and Spanish. There was a panoramic tour followed by a guided walk, where Sara (our English tour guide) gave the history and stories of the city that were both intriguing and humorous. A half day was enough for us with an 8 year old (who loved looking at all the swords!), but go for a full day if you want more time exploring the cathedral and sights.

Excellent choice to check out Toledo. - Very good tour to take a look at Toledo. The city is fantastic, so it takes more than half a day to get to know it, however this tour is perfect when you have little time to devote to one place. Alejandro was our guide and was super friendly, his explanation was clear, interesting, and as an extra gave us many tips for when we decide to return, a magnificent host of the city.

Well organized bus and walking tour - This is a well organized bus trip from Neptune fountain Madrid to Toledo. There is a drive around the perimeter with beautiful views, then drop off at the escalators for a walking tour in English. We walk slowly and skipped the tour but I heard it hit all the highlights. We had lunch and explored the magnificent cathedral-don't miss it! There was a half hour delay to return to Madrid but we arrived back a little after 3. I recommend it!

great value - The trip is a great value overall considering it includes transportation to and from and a basic walking tour. My only suggestion to organizers is to provide better information on departure, as my ticket didn't indicate if I was on Express or Experience bus, which seems to be an important distinction with different departure times. People had to line up to ask the guide which group they are in which was unnecessary waste of time.

Too little time in Toledo - Toledo is beautiful and it deserves a full day experience, one hour free to explore is not enough. Is better is you use this tour as transportation and after they finish the walking tour go back to Madrid from the bus station for 6€ or you can just book the round trip and explore Toledo by yourself. The tour guide was very nice and helpful.

Would think TWICE - It was good visiting Toledo and learning more of this city. However, the company running the tours 'Big Bus' are poor at arrangements. Although we booked 5 tickets together, we were forced to sit in separate seats (as they were the only ones left). Added to this, some passengers were quite aggressive - which made us very uncomfortable (It was over the fact that there are NO reserved seats). Getting back was also farcical - after making us to line up in the order we arrived to leave Toledo, we were then told to board the bus across the street - in a 'free for all' - and this got worse when there were more passengers than seats available. Finally another bus was arranged for the excess passengers. Not sure I would recommend this to families with kids or older folks - due to the scramble for bus seats.

Ok but difficult to understand guide’s English and didn’t need the blacksmith visit - Exploring the city on our own. Couldn’t follow our guide or hear her correctly. Didn’t need to see a blacksmith either.

Lovely place but very limited for time in Toledo - Toledo itself is very interesting and so is the tour by the guide. But be aware that you may only have two hours in Toledo itself as our coach picked up other groups on the way. We also had a long (1 hour) wait at the coach park to collect us afterwards.
