Acknowledged as a proficient artist, Maya commenced his journey at the Neptuno hall in Granada and later shared a stage with La Chunga at Madrid’s Café de Chinitas. His talent took him on a tour across Spain, organized by the Ministry of Culture.
At the age of 18, he choreographed his initial piece, ‘Pasión,’ which received immense popularity in Granada. This fame led him to present his show in various theatres across the Community of Madrid.
In 1992, partaking in the Universal Exposition of Seville, he teamed up with Miguel Bosé for a show titled ‘Jóvenes valores del siglo XXI,’ where they received considerable acclaim. The same year, he put forth the play ‘Contraste,’ carrying it across various Spanish theatres.
In 1997, the Spanish Monarchs requested a performance at Carmen de los Chapiteles, marking his grand debut at the Alhambra theatre, where he performed ‘Cautivo’ alongside Manolete, La Hierbabuena, and Beatriz Martín.
