Very knowledgeable guide! - Our tour of The Prado was fantastic! Our guide, Christina was so knowledgeable, she should be teaching an art history class. I felt like she did a great job of highlighting specific works in the museum for us, and giving information on each piece and the artist. I think if we had done the tour on our own we would have just gotten lost in how big the museum is. Overall a really nice expeirence.

Double feeling (good but not great) - The tour started at 13:30 sharp and also came to an end at 15:30 sharp. Herewith the remark that the tickets still had to be purchased (by the organizer) and a first pee break was planned, so the tour itself lasted rather 1h45. The tour itself was very fun and interesting. The enthusiastic Guide has explained in depth about 15 lively interesting works of art. I learned a lot from this. Afterwards there was also a temporary interesting exhibition. I don't remember if this was cited by the Guide. It was a supervisor who pointed this out to me. This exhibition was also a must see!

Museum yes. No tapas. - The Prado Museum is unique in the world. Impossible to go to Madrid and not visit him. Beautiful works of invaluable artistic, historical and, of course, financial value. In fact, there is no money in the world to pay for some of the works on display. For this reason, I was very surprised to find that several of these treasures do not have any additional protection. Not even a glass protecting the picture of the public, which, in my view, should even be armored. Just a simple cord to keep a minimum of distance between the frame and the visitors. Even more when we see news, in various parts of Europe, about madmen who in the name of the most diverse causes, and even without any cause, start to damage precious artistic works of which the Prado Museum has in large quantity. I found this lack of care and protection extremely negligent. With irreversible consequences. In a word, incurry Regarding the organization of the visit, the Guide arrived at the scheduled time and places. For my unforgivable fault I did not keep your name. It was very enlightening using an electronic device with screen to better point out the details of the works seen. Also regarding the organization, I made the option of “tasting tapas in one of the most important bars in Madrid”. At the end of the visit I asked the Guide where the tasting would be, thinking that she would lead us to that bar and that it was nearby. But no. She gave me the address of the place, which was far from the museum, and that I would present myself there and request the tasting that I was entitled to. As if it was not enough Google Maps / Google informed that the bar, that day, only worked in the morning, and the visit ended at 18:00. I also found out that of the whole group I was the only one who had made this choice. In short, I recommend visiting the museum but do not indicate the option of “tasting tapas in one of the most important bars in Madrid”.

Book a tour to navigate the Prado! - Very good fly over of the Prado. To navigate this museum alone would be overwhelming and difficult. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the artists and the historical context. Tour was quite large (30 people) and museum was crowded but we had earphones and were able to both hear and experience the works. Was good to do a late afternoon tour as we still had two hours to enjoy the rest of the museum on our own.
