Highlights
  • Madrid - This incredible experience starts in the most comfortable way, aboard the fastest train in Spain (reaches a top speed of 300 km/h), highlighting its punctuality, avoiding up to 2 hours of delays and traffic jams of big cities and getting to Toledo in just 30 minutes.

Get impressed by the countryside you often wouldn’t see if you were driving the highway or flying thousands of miles in the air. In ecological terms, train travel remains overall the most environmentally friendly mode of traveling.

  • Acueduct of Segovia - After a scenic ride, start the adventure discovering the famous Aqueduct of Segovia, a Roman engineering marvel dating back to the 1st century AD. Behold the well-preserved aqueduct stretches through the heart of the city and is an incredible sight.

  • Segovia - Continue with a soft hiking through La Senda de los Molinos, a magnificent walk that unify landscapes, nature, geology and industrial history of the city of Segovia.

The path runs between the neighborhoods of San Lorenzo and San Marcos, with a nice walk along the riverbank that brings us closer to its industrial past. This part of the city is somewhat unknown, but has a natural and historical beauty of great value. Enjoy the coolness under the trees while contemplating the beauty of its autochthonous nature and lush vegetation until arriving at the viewpoint of San Marcos, a privileged place to contemplate the Segovian Alcazar from a unique perspective.

  • Alcazar of Segovia - After hiking, you’ll visit the Alcázar, perched on a hill overlooking the city, its majestic castle that was once home to the kings of Castile. This fortress has a unique appearance with its turreted towers and is said to have inspired Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle. Explore the interior, including the various rooms, halls, and courtyards. Don’t miss the Tower of Juan II, which offers panoramic views of Segovia.

  • Cathedral of Segovia - Continue through the charming streets of Segovia’s Old Town. Admire the medieval buildings, quaint squares, and picturesque alleys. Walk through the Jewish Quarter and the Gothic Cathedral. Don’t miss the Plaza Mayor, the main square, where you can relax at a café and soak in the atmosphere.

I had a wonderful time at Segovia - Our tour guide Cristina has lots of experience with the history of Segovia and it was pleasant to have her guide us through the beautiful landscape and the Alcazar in Segovia. Besides, Cristina will give you plenty of time to explore the site on your own. She also knows the best photo opportunities (I discovered one for her too haha) and will point them out to you. She took photos of us and was happy to do it…thank you Christina.

Charming town with such beautiful culture and fascinating history! - Absolutely loved this day trip - one of the best we’ve ever taken! Our tour guide was Laura and she was an excellent communicator. She provided so many insights into the town of Segovia and the history of Spain, and she was patient and kind (unfortunately we had a lunch that went very long and made us a bit late). Segovia is such a quaint town and the aqueduct is a must see if you are able to take a day trip from Madrid. It was also great having a guide lead us through the train station, which was a bit hectic and chaotic. Highly recommend!

Great tour! - Segovia was beautiful. I appreciate the tour of the cathedral ( the Alcazar was closed when we went) and the historic center along with the hike near the lake. Cristina was a great tour guide, explaining key landmarks or historical details and making sure we were always comfortable. I appreciated her allowing us to stop by a bakery before we started the hike so my 7 years old could get a snack before he became hangry. She also offered to take pics throughout. Overall, we had a wonderful time.

Segovia is beautiful! Tour guide was great! - Our tour guide was awesome! She was very formative and ensured we all stayed together despite the very heavy crowds at the train stations. The Alcazar was the highlight of the experience! Such a great tour. We actually noticed some people trying to eavesdrop because of her great details. The hike was a bit much for our young children. We would have preferred to have spent the time wandering Segovia. We only had about 20 min to try to find souvenirs and spent the rest of free time (30) trying to get food as our kids were starving after the hike. Segovia is beautiful. You could spend a whole day exploring.

Great day via high speed train to Segovia - This was a great trip from Madrid to Segovia. We did have our start time changed by a few hours just the day before though luckily it still worked for our agenda. We did try contacting the tour operator, several times to get more info about the time change, though did not receive a call back. Other than the logistical issues, the tour itself was well worth the time. The meeting point was near the train station and the tour was limited to a small group of 6. Our guide, Laura) was fabulous. She was friendly, knowledgable, and entertaining. The tour gave us a good mix of time with the guide and time to ourselves to explore at our own pace. There was a lot of walking including a good deal of steps. Segovia itself including the aqueduct and the castle are well worth your time. While on vacation. I’m glad I was able to squeeze the tour in while in Madrid. I would definitely recommend this tour via the high speed train from Madrid as it gives you more time in Segovia than you would get from a bus tour

Our favourite site in Spain so far. - What an amazing city, castle, and aqueduct. I wish we had skipped the shops to spend longer appreciating the aqueduct. Visuals like diagrams would help explain how the technology works. Christina did a great job and the tour was well-organized to go smoothly. Future hikers, remember to bring your own water.

A Great Tour - This was a great tour to a beautiful city, only let down by the timing of the tour changing despite contacting the tour a week beforehand, this threw out a lot of plans we had so was disappointing. The tour itself was excellent as was our guide a nice mix of the the city sites and a little countryside walk.

Segovia - The tour was canceled, we did it on our own using the provided tickets. No idea how the tour would actually be.
