¡Salud! - It was raining, but that did not stop us from experiencing Madrid! Asier was so informative, not just on our tour, but he gave us recommendations for the rest of our trip - that is the Devour difference! Their guides are so invested in their cities, it really makes you feel like you made a local friend ... if even just for a few hours! This was a great kick-off on our first night in Madrid!

Really enjoyable evening - Ava was friendly and fun, the info she shared was just the right level of detail (interesting without being too much!), and the drinks and tapas all delicious, in places we probably would not have found by ourselves.

Relaxed, fun, and great way to explore central Madrid (and learn some things along the way!) - So, let's get this out of the way 1st - Montse is an amazing tour guide. Charming, knowledgeable, relaxed, she really helped make the evening an amazing experience. So if you don't have Montse as your guide... eh, sorry. We were also blessed by being joined by four couples (3x American, 1x English) who were chatty, relaxed (this will be a theme), and fun. As much fun as the tour itself was, it was a really nice part of the experience getting to know the people we were with a little, and sharing the experience with them. Warning: I am NOT going to tell you exactly what you see and do. Part of the fun of the tour is experiencing it for yourself. It is 3.5 hours or so of walking, eating, and drinking through Madrid in (hopefully for you) delightful company. The tour itself takes you on a relaxed (there it is again) meander through the streets and squares of central Madrid, with Montse making stops to give historical, cultural, and architectural background on the way. It's an excellent way to learn some of the background of the formation of Madrid, its cultural influences, and the part it has played in Spanish history. You will also see some key Madrid landmarks, and take in some excellent viewing points. It's all very manageable, and the walking chunks help to build an appetite between each pit stop. Speaking of which: the tour takes in four establishments of varying age, historical, and gastronomical significance, with Montse explaining their place in Madrid, and also some of the broader dining out do's and don'ts along the way. There is a good variety of food and drink to experience, and the group had a couple of pescatarians who seemed well catered for. I've shared photos of the restaurants, but not the food, to minimise spoilers. Don't research the restaurants if you dont want to know more! By the end of the evening we were sated with food, drink, and company. Though it was a bit of a shame it had to come to end, we were having such a great time! If you're new to Madrid, or even if not but you'd like to know a little more about the history and background of the city, the Devour tour is highly, highly recommended.

Wonderful tour, book directly with Devour Food Tours - The Devour Food Tour was spectacular! Montse was a knowledgeable, enthusiastic tour guide. She shared history of Madrid and took us to some of the best taverns to try a variety of local food and drinks. It was the perfect meal! Viator, however, messed up. Our reservation was for 5:30 and when we arrived, there was no one at the meeting place. Long story short, we called and found out there was no 5:30 tour, even though our confirmed tickets said 5:30. Luckily, we were able to join the 6:30 tour. But it stole an hour of our 2-day trip to Madrid.

Selections off the beaten path. - Good experience, with a variety of tapas that aren’t the most common, so a good choice if you’ve done the usuals. Asier was knowledgeable and personable.
