Due to the variety and richness of its more than 1000 works of art, our visit will take you to the most essential.
Through the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection you will learn about styles, characters, periods and ideas that cross Western painting from the thirteenth to the twentieth century. The museum is one of the cultural references of the Community of Madrid.
You will learn about landscape and genre painting, especially frequent themes of the Dutch school of the seventeenth century and the American school of the nineteenth century, the avant-garde of the twentieth century: Fauvism, expressionism, surrealism, abstraction and pop art.

Wonderful tour of a very... - Wonderful tour of a very interesting museum. Laura was very knowledgeable and helped us enjoy a lovely afternoon at the museum.

Tip Luis for us! - We booked the same day, Thursday January 2nd while traveling on the train from València to Madrid.
I did not notice the drop down for languages. Only noticed when we got to the meeting spot, it was Spanish only.
Luis, the guide, was accommodating, much to the chagrin of the others. They seemed annoyed. We are forever grateful. 🙏
I know the tour took longer as he explained in both languages. I had questions but did not want to delay the tour more so I refrained from asking.
The collection is surprisingly vast. And… Thyssen is not on the top 10 of museums to visit in Madrid.
I forgot to tip Luis! I am so sorry for that!!!

Excellent - Hard to find a guided tour of this museum, but it was worth it. We were only 8 pax and made a visit of almost 2 hrs, touring the most important works. Then we had the possibility to continue visiting the museum on our own.

An amazing and worthwhile visit. We had it almost exclusively and it was a pleasure. - Laura is a Great Guide gave us lots of information and data. We were able to see the Thyssen in broad outlines all times chronologically during the time of the visit. We even got short!!

Unmisseble museum in Madrid - The museum is very good . I appreciated the guide Laura very lively and patient. My only complain is that I booked a tour in English and it was in Spanish. Fortunatly I could follow .
