Highlights
  • Plaza De Zocodover - Emblematic Toledo square with market on Tuesdays, community events and tourist train.
  • Iglesia de Santo Tome - The Church of Santo Tomé, is located in the city of Toledo, and has great importance for housing the work The Burial of the Lord of Orgaz
  • Santa Iglesia Catedral Primada de Toledo - Beyond its concrete historical and artistic value, the Cathedral Church has a value and a theological significance as a reference for the pastoral life of the whole diocese, for priests and for the lay faithful. In addition, the cathedrals have been the forge place of our Western and European culture; they were the embryo of the current universities, they anticipated welfare work and they were art workshops. Today the cathedrals are witnesses of that culture and message of transcendence and values for the people of today.

Built in 1180 as a synagogue and, having functioned as such for 211 years, it was expropriated and transformed into a church as a result of the pogrom of 1391. At present the building belongs to the Catholic Church, but there is no cult in it. It is open to the public and functions as a museum or center where both cultural and educational activities take place.

Toledo I’m a few hours - Our guide, Cristina was great. This half day tour is the perfect amount of time to see the highlights in Toledo. It was a very hot day, so the amount of time walking and resting was perfect. I enjoyed Cristina’s patience, professionalism, and humor. I recommend this tour to anyone wanting a short trip to Toledo.

A “must-see” tour - Aranxta was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. She was kind and gracious to everyone. If we could give her ten stars we would. The tour timing changed, and she made sure we were able to return to Madrid in time to get our son back to school. Toledo is a beautiful city. We recommended requesting her as a tour guide.

The tour guide made it extra special - All I want to say is that the trip was amazing for one special reason and that reason was our tour guide Arantxa. She is the kind of person that makes everybody so happy and feel so good, because she’s always smiling, talking in a nice voice, and making sure everyone feels super special on the tour. Although we saw most of Toledo and we saw one church and one Synagogue I highly recommend the Sefardic museum. Both of the synagogues had a very powerful spiritual feeling. As far as the food were on the tour during my lunchtime, I went to the café of the nuns had a sandwich and a slice of cake. It was perfect. The vistas and Panoramas were excellent for taking photos. But it all was amazing because of the wonderful and amazing Arantxa. She made the time to answer everyone’s questions and to help everyone find exactly what they needed to on the trip. And she did it with the most loving and kind Attention to detail.

Beautiful historic city - This is a very beautiful city with much history. All was explained by our wonderful guide. She gave us many interesting facts and was happy to explain any personal questions. My only objection was that the size of the group was very large, filling an entire bus. I think it would have been more enjoyable with a smaller group.

Very good tour - Toledo is beautiful and the tour was perfect, our only complaint is the audio equipment is bad, weak signal interference sometimes also in front of the guide. Oscar the tour guide was very good. They mix the half day tour with the full day tour the difference is the two hours to visit the cathedral inside and free time. If you need to return like our group to Madrid on time to the 6 hrs just let them now from the beginning and they transfer you back on time. If you don’t have to return, you can stay and enjoy the free time in this beautiful city.

Very good tour. - Marvelous guide but sadly extremely crowded. A visit to the ancient parts by the river etc would be a good addition and leave out the synagogue which has closed off women's areas and quite empty.

It was a large group,... - It was a large group, difficult to get understanding of the town/history. We broke off from the group and wandered on our own. It was nice however to have the transportation etc arranged.

I would recommend taking a private tour for the best experience. - The city, history, churches, and sights were all worth the experience. However, I would recommend a private tour or small group tour (no larger than 6) instead of the larger bilingual bus tour to better enjoy the sights. The tour guide was not equipped with the proper quite boxes earplugs for those who are hearing impaired. When we inquired, we got the “Too Bad, So Sad” look from the guide along with a sorry. Although she provided information in Spanish, and flipped into English and back to Spanish I couldn’t tell the difference between the two. So, if you do take this tour be sure to read a history book about the city before going. It also felt that 30-50% of the time was spent organizing and managing the group. Finally, I would not recommend visiting on a weekend. Although we enjoyed what we saw we left the city feeling we missed so much.
