Poor Safety Practices - I booked this experience during a holiday for my Thai girlfriend and I in July 2022. We were collected by a nice air conditioned taxi with a friendly driver on time at our hotel. From then on it was essentially a day wasted waiting around. First we wasted time driving to another hotel where the guests had already left. Then we drove to another hotel where we waited, sitting in the taxi for 45 minutes while another problem was overcome by a booking error. When we finally got to the event location, we found a great mass of people (about 15 not including us) standing around in a very small area where customers were supposed to be getting kitted out for the zipline. It was absolute chaos. We stood around for a long time with no one really in charge or directly activities. We actually had to get hold of one of the staff to get all the safety equipment fitted to us. While this was happening there was a very hot and tetchy looking family of 5 standing in the full zipline safety gear complaining loudly that they had been waiting for an hour and nothing was happening and no information was being given. When I saw the father try to speak to one of the staff, he was completely ignored several times. When a member of staff started kitting us out with harness he stopped halfway through and I didn't see him again. We had to get someone else to complete our kit up and that person forgot to give us safety gloves (you will see how critical they are if you do a zipline). Once we were kitted we then waited for a further 30 minutes with the family of 5 who were ready to explode by the time they got moving. My girlfriend and I started with this family and was swapped to another group halfway through which spoke volumes about the poor organisation of how each group was managed. As we climbed the first ladder to the first zipline, which was about 10 metres off the ground, I noticed that the staff hadn't clipped my girlfriend's safety line had not been clipped onto the safety line to prevent her falling. I clipped it on myself. After that I began watching everything which was being done by the staff and was horrified to see two more people at different times who were not clipped onto the safety line. These were the most serious safety lapses I saw but not the last. Throughout the whole time I was at the location, all I could hear is shouting, really really loud shouting by the staff. I realised that, because were did not have radios to communicate with each other, they were shouting from tree station to tree station because one station cannot be seen by another. When you bear in mind that there are distances of 100 and 200 metre ziplines through dense tree foliage and that there are already loud natural jungle noises, it seems unbelievable that the safety of each zipliner is reliant on random shouting. It is not even as if there were specific safety words words being shouted to signify for instance, that the line was clear for the next customer, it was literally a nonsensical shout which changed every time. Let me also say that despite the 'experience duration' time which is specified on the Trip Advisor webpage as 4 hours, this is not even close to being accurate. If you decide to go on this experience you should expect actual zipline time of about 10 minutes. The rest of the time you will waiting in one of the following circumstances; 1. waiting in a taxi going to the location 2. waiting at the location for your experience to begin 3. waiting on a tree station for the next zipline 4. waiting for enough people to be ready to return to their hotels as dictated by the taxi driver 5. waiting in the taxi on the way back to your hotel while everyone else is dropped off first. The actual ziplining is excellent but the process is badly managed, there is too much waiting around and there are many glaring safety issues.
